Reviews

Jackson Booth-Millard What I love about Channel 4 countdowns is the nostalgia provided, remembering all those memories brought from the individual results in the lists, and this was definitely one I would recognise many of the inclusions. Jonathan Ross presents this countdown of the greatest toys, board games and games consoles that have entertained children and families over the many years they have been around. It was really fun to recognise so many of the products from my generation, or days growing up, that I had played and had so much fun with, or just seen in adverts of on the shelves, I was hoping and expecting certain ones to be included, and I was really interested to find out about them as well. Toys in the list (most that I recognised or have heard of) and included Raving Bonkers (seen in Toy Story 2), Teletubbies, Bratz, Kite (Peter Powell model), Striker/Super Striker, Beyblades, Clackers, Trouble/Frustration - Popomatic board games, Doctor Who Cyber Mask, Magna Doodle, Stretch Armstrong, Tickle Me Elmo, Stylophone, Troll Dolls, Weebles, Cabbage Patch Kids, Polly Pocket, Furby, Beanie Babies, Buzz Lightyear, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, Buckaroo!, Tiny Tears, Hula Hoop, Thunderbirds Tracy Island, Hungry Hungry Hippos, Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head, 007 Aston Martin DB5 toy car, Care Bears, KerPlunk, My Little Pony, Space Hoppers, Tonka toy trucks, Tamagotchi, Super Soaker, Operation, Slinky, Playmobil, Mastermind, Barbie, Pictionary, Frisbee, Jenga, Fuzzy Felt, Mouse Trap, Hot Wheels, Battleship, Pokémon trading cards, Twister, The Chemistry Set, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Yo-yo, Top Trumps, Roller Skates, Risk, Spirograph, Subbuteo, Plasticine, Play-Doh, Ribik's Cube, Teddy Bear, Etch A Sketch, Matchbox toy cars, Action Man, Airfix models/kits, Connect Four, Hornby train sets, Mechano, Cluedo, He-Man, Microsoft Xbox (with Halo), Transformers, Star Wars toys - Light Sabre, Nintendo Gameboy (with Tetris), Trivial Pursuit, Scalextric, Scrabble, Sony Playstation (with Wipeout), Super Mario on Nintendo games console, Nintendo Wii, Dungeons & Dragons (a stupid high result), Monopoly, and deserved number one Lego. With contributions from Paralympian Ade Adepitan, Blue Peter's Andy Akinwolere, Property Ladder's Sarah Beeny, Heston Blumenthal, Gyles Brandreth, Marcus Brigstocke, Andrew Collins, former Top Gear Stig Ben Collins, Mark Dolan, The Whole 19 Yards' Caroline Flack, Leigh Francis as Keith Lemon, Mel Giedroyc, This Is England's Rosamund Hanson's, Charlie Higson, Hot Fuzz's Jessica Hynes, Frankie Goes To Hollywood's Holly Johnson, Dom Joly, Iain Lee, Grand Designs' Kevin McCloud, Richard 'Dick' McCourt and Dominic 'Dom' Wood, Andy McNab, Andi Osho, Nick Park, The Gadget Show's Suzi Perry, Gail Porter, Steve Punt, David Quantick, Alex Reid, Countdown's Rachel Riley, Toy Story 3 director Lee Unkrich, Pete Waterman, Teletubbies creator Anne Woods and Alex Zane. Very good!
