Horst in Translation (filmreviews@web.de) I was a bit disappointed by this short-film. I thought the animation of all the landscapes and nature was done fairly well and on very few occasions even downright beautiful. However, I didn't really like the way Adam and the dog were animated and the problem is, yes you guessed right, that they are in pretty much every scene. Another thing that felt underwhelming was the story. There could have been done so much more when it came to depicting the process of domesticating the dog or also the moment of Eve coming into their lives.I don't even know if I would recommend this one for religion classes, maybe really only for children as it leaves a lot to be desired and does not really scratch the surface of a great animated short film. That's why I'm actually a bit surprised this was nominated for an Oscar and even won the category at the Annies (animation Oscars). Oh well, make up your mind yourself. If you read all these lines about it, I'm sure you're about to watch it or even have already seen it.
Rectangular_businessman "Adam and Dog" is a simple, but at the same time, very captivating and heartwarming tale of friendship.Without any single spoken word, this short is able to express many genuine and subtle emotions in a way that could be done only through animation (While technically this could have been done using living action footage, I honestly think it just won't be the same) It also had a great animation style, with beautiful sceneries and excellent designs. This was a highly enjoyable animation, which was also very well made, having enough virtues to deserve the appreciation of every viewer.9.5/10
Hellmant 'ADAM AND DOG': Three and a Half Stars (Out of Five) The story of how dog became man's best friend! It's a 2012 animated short film that was nominated for a 2013 Academy Award. It's about 16 minutes long and focuses on the first man, Adam, befriending the first dog (in the Garden of Eden). Then woman, Eve, gets in the way of their friendship but their unbreakable love survives the test (for eternity). It was written and directed by Minkyu Lee and is close to featuring animated nudity (but nothing in detail). Touching if you're a dog lover (or just an animal one). Sloppy animation but it has character. A decent animated short film.Watch our movie review show 'MOVIE TALK' at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k6yq7kwUUDQ
kindtxgal What I love, absolutely adore about short film animation is the ability to tell a story with little to no dialogue whatsoever, which this one does superbly.Interesting rendition of the timeless retelling of the original Garden of Eden, Adam, Eve, and of course animals. It's a great take on how our modern relationship with our canine friends may have initiated.Beautiful imagery, simple art, skillfully weaves an enchanting story of man before and after "The Fall". Kudos to the illustrator and producer. The story line is simple, direct, funny, dramatic, and one might even wager poignant.
