The movie was excellent. Songs and BGM were also good in the movie. This is one of the Best Movie of Vikram and Shankar. Vikram acting was superb in the movie.

Well, MPD is a very serious psychiatric disorder. And I suppose there are very few people in the world who suffer from it. MPD does not actually arise by one event or perhaps a few traumatic events. It occurs due to continual exposure to personal trauma. It does not happen if a person, suffers from a loss of a loved one. It might perhaps occur, but certainly not the way the movie has portrayed it. MPD is a rather serious illness, with very grave implications. The Movie Anniyan, has certainly not done justice to the cause, instead, it has shown great disrespect to those people who in actuality suffer MPD. The portrayal of a mentally(chronic) sick individual played by Vikram is awful. Either the directer and the actor have no idea about this illness, that they have pathetically shown a person with MPD, or that they never had it in their minds, about hurting families who have their loved ones suffering from MPD.May be, The Director Shankar had a social message to convey to his viewers, regarding the matters of corruption,etc. But I strongly believe that he could have achieved it by adapting another idea, or perspective. It seems like Anniyan is mocking at people who have been suffering from this illness, by behaving 'devilish', but actually doing the job to God, cleansing the country from corruption. This is totally non-acceptable. If at all you are looking out for a psychological thriller, i would suggest movies like 'Identity' And even 'Fight Club'. I hope the directors keep in mind the sentiments of people who really suffer from psychological disorders before they dare make such disrespectful movies.Pooja

To begin with, shankar is the director who did a great movie called Indian. But here in this movie where is his story? He took some from seven, some from Fightclub. Some of the fights from highly acclaimed Hollywood movies (which is to be noted as they make some Indians aware of such kind of the fight). The story is so insane that an ordinary man, who is no super hero and it is not a sci-fiction too. Then why making such great fight scenes and unwanted songs? At least the story line is clear and as usual he rocked his screenplay with humor and thrill. The actor did his character at his best. But the movie is too commercial than giving the message. And Of course most scenes of the multiple-personality is shown illogical, just to show the acting skills of the actor. No hope in those other characters of the movie. The music is not so good and well the songs as said is unnecessary to the whole concept of the movie. And why a plenty of Love in an irrelevant story. Who asked the third character called "Remo" why a great hype on "Anniyan". The movie may be a bit entertaining for commercial lovers. But when it comes to cinema, it still is cheating the movie goers with the commercial stuffs, that are more frequent. Any way This movie is far more better than his next. "Sivaji".

If you do not know Tamil (just like I don't) then watch the DVD version of ANNIYAN with subtitles (not the Hindi version). You will be proud to find that the best movies in the world are Indian movies (I will learn Tamil just to watch its movies). Roles were challenging but acting/performance was great too. Direction qualifies for a new degree after good better and best. Comedy has good timing and morals delivered are clear. I have been humming the songs specially - Iyengar Vittu Adege with out really knowing what the lyrics means. Actions were well shown and well place in the movie. The scenes were so well placed. Music was super. This is a art, classic, action, science, romance, thriller, drama. A movie does not get better than this.
