callingandi Not only badly acted and directed (how much time can be devoted to looking at one man looking pensive? A lot, it seems) but utterly irresponsible in messaging. It is not ok to go and kill a building full of people, just because you think some of them screwed you. Totally, completely and reprehensibly tone deaf to the problems of suicide, health care, gun violence and inequity...
OneEightNine Media This is a great film. It not only has well directed action and an excellent story; but it does more to explain why one out of four Americans do not have 400 dollars to spare in case of an emergency than any film I have seen in recent years. Seriously. Even better than The Big Short. I kid you not.I wish this came out in theaters. The film is about a middle-class man and his wife who slowly lose all their income thanks to cancer and greedy Wall Street fat cats. The perfection about this film is how it builds and builds. You see the couple trying to cope while you learn more and more about the one-sided U.S. banking system. Another thing I like about this film is how it teaches us that lawyers work side-by-side and even encourage this corrupt system. If you've ever watch a film that has anything to do with law in it, you may have noticed that for every "bad guy" lawyer there is always a "good guy" lawyer. This is literally the only film I have ever seen that shows what your average bloodsucking lawyer does to the working man. Such a brilliant and powerful scene. Now let us talk about the action. This is far from a mindless action film. The gunplay builds into the film during the second half but isn't overwhelming or cheesy. As good as the action may be, you'll remember this film for the whole film and not just the action. This is a must watch.
ammarshk "The real criminals are downtown on Wall Street wearing suits that cost more then any of us make in a year and they steal more money the anyone on Rikers Island ever dreamed of." Jim Baxford (Purcell) is a hard working man with a very sick wife. When advice he took ends with him losing all his money when the stock market tanked his life begins to spiral out of control. When he loses everything he snaps, and no one is safe. This is a movie that will make you feel many different types of emotions, mostly anger. An everyman gets screwed over and the bad news seems to pile on him again and again and finally does what some have only dreamed of. This is another movie that I do not advocate what he does, but it sure is fun to watch. This movie reminded me a lot of Falling Down in the way that that character also snapped and does things that I have always wanted to. By the time he snaps you really feel for him and are almost happy he does. I really liked this and I recommend the movie highly. Overall, one of the best B movies I have seen and Uwe Boll's best movie to date. I give this an A-.
Finfrosk86 My, my, my, Uwe Boll, you have come a long way!I remember the times of 'House of the Dead' and 'Alone in the Dark', movies that by all logic, should have been awesome, but instead was awful. Those we actually some of my first meetings with just plain bad movies. That special type of bad. Not many movies I see, falls into this category.'Bailout: The age of greed', or 'Attack on Wall Street' which was the name I saw it under, is not that bad at all! It's pretty much like a normal movie, actually. Some of the dramatic parts are a little iffy, but it might be so, that if I didn't know it was Uwe Boll, I wouldn't really have thought about it. Or maybe I would. Dominic Purcell does a great job. The story is not exactly Pulitzer-prize material, but gets the job done. You feel for this guy. If Uwe Boll keeps getting better, maybe in the future he will make a truly good movie? Time will tell.
