One of the best movies that i have ever watched so far and i have seen a lot..i was ready to sleep when i accidentally discovered this movie on TV,it kept me awake all night!The cast was brilliant, Nastassja Kinski was amazing and no movie before have made me feel this way,so many conflicting emotions such as joy ,happiness ,sorrow , grieve, honor, proud, mercy, hate, anger and more! No matter if you like mafia movies or not this one is simply outstanding!It's length may seems a lot(about 3 hours) but the last thing this movie does is get you bored cause the plot is very well put and needs time to evolve which is another plus for this great movie!!

Never in all my years of film enjoyment have I passed 3 hours watching such painfully good, yet bitter irony. Although, at the begging one automatically considers this a sad failed remake of The Godfather storyline, one soon comes to the realization that this film has nothing to do with the weakness or shortcomings of the Don and the future patriarchs of the Luciano family. No, this film is about the mistakes of everyday human beings and the most stinging, biting irony one could ever imagine. Even though much of the film is predictable there were twists that added to the pain and were completely unexpected. If you enjoy irony that draws out every last sweat drop, this is the film to watch and remember not the judge this book by its cover --or first scenes.

I've probably seen Bella Mafia a dozen times and it never fails to hold my attention. It's about a group of Mafia wives who band together to avenge their husbands murders. It has to be one of the best movies I've ever seen. Vanessa Redgrave is excellent as always, Nastassja Kinski is wonderful in her role as well. But I'd have to say that Illeana Douglas performed the role of Teresa Luciano with such perfection I almost forgot I was watching a movie! I think one of the most moving scenes, for me at least, was when Sophia (played by Nastassja Kinski) walked in to her sons bedroom. Of course, there were so many scenes that left me speechless. I can't leave out James Marsden, his role as Luka Carolla was wonderful as well, carrying out his adopted father's vengeance with a very hard heart.

The only thing I have to say about the film BELLA MAFIA is that it is utterly amazing. This is no doubt in my opinion the best drama that I have ever seen. The cast was superb. The writing amazing. The movie drew me in from the first scene. And I admit that I didn't expect it to be good at all. I was sort of just looking for a film to past the time.
The one thing I loved the most was the development in character. As a viewer, I saw all of the characters lives change in great detail. From Sofia to Luca to Moyra. Even though the plot had some violent scenes, the writer managed to put in aspects of loyalty and love which made you kind of root for vengeance against the opposite characters. All in all. One of the best, if not the best in my opinion. If you want drama and action, see this movie.
