I find this to be one of the most down to earth and best stories put on film. It turns a lot of assumptions that we make in life about people we meet and are even friends with on their heads. I find it to be well made, with great dialogue, acting, and of course, story. The writer needs to be very proud of him or herself. I wouldn't have expected this when I saw the ad on Netflix. I thought it was going to be a lame story about some stuck up woman with no idea of the world or life getting upset over her wedding, regardless of the circumstances. I was very pleasantly surprised to find that this was not the case.The teen, Ramsey, the wife, Kristin, and Lumpy all really threw stereotypes to the wind. The scenery played to the movie quite well. It was a subdued movie which you wouldn't expect to be powerful, yet it is without all the in-you-face preaching that a lot of movies try to pass off.

I was excited to see this after reading the glowing reviews and being a huge fan of quirky indie films with interesting characters. Unfortunately, I didn't find this to be one of those films. One uncomfortable, tedious, and unpleasant scene after another with stereotype after stereotype and absurdity, etc. The parents are totally out of touch; Shelly Long's role is insulting. In fact, most of the people in this are insulting to each other and the viewer's intelligence. The only comedy is when the director goes for cheap laughs...wow how clever he is. The teenage girl just wisecracks her way through the movie and is rude even to those nice to her. A couple underestimates the cost of a wedding and realizes after the fact they can't afford it or even communicate. Maybe this is all the point but I just didn't buy it.

This is my first written review ever. That says a lot because I watch many movies with my sweetie, and we both loved it! What can I say? This was a great heart warming movie. A wonderful lesson about never judging a book/ or a man by their cover. This world needs more movies like this as far as teaching us all a little more about true friendship and different forms of it.All we get from movies now is to much violence, and not enough thought provoking writing.Everyone should see this movie. There is something for everyone.The acting was superb. I especially liked Addison in this role, and hope to see her in many more.Only thing on the bad side that I will say, is it should have been longer. I also wished we had watched this instead of the Super Bowl. I'm a huge football fan so that says it all. lol

It is not a film I would watch Sat night or Fri, as the cover does seem boring. However, I decided to watch someone light and I was surprised. It is not your average blockbuster movie or super CGI, no this wouldn't fail badly.This movie was about relationship with newly wedded couples, broken up family, gay couples are how it locks into one story. Good acting, very emotionally. The lower the domestic violence, abuse etc as they didn't want to portrait life has to be like this.It is not a comedy movie, it is emotional movie, for parents to watch.I can understand why the box office is low, as cinema fares are so expensive, but this will be a great movie to watch at home on TV. i really enjoy the movie.
