This film was a major disappointment and really lost its way. It started out great, it drew me in and did a great job introducing the characters and the story. I love Tarron Egerton, Emma Roberts and Ansel Elgort, they did an amazing job. Even Kevin Spacey rocks up for another role he has done many times over but they weren't the problem. Half way through the 2nd act it seemed like they were just making it up as they went. I am not sure who's fault it was the writer or director but it was a disaster. The 3 stars is for the actors doing their job it's just a shame the director and writer didn't do theirs.

This rolls along quite well. It's nicely paced and there are some good performances. It's based on a true story but there the similarity ends because this story is told from the perspective of just one person (who, apparently, is not at all like the real-life character). Consequently the plot line is rather skewed, particularly at the end where it tries to tie everything together. But it doesn't do a very good job, probably because it's trying to tie an ending to a story which didn't happen! The director had a hand in writing this. If you've read any of my other reviews you'll know what I think of writer/directors! - but, apart from the end, this ain't too bad. Apart from the plot flaws. So, it's generally a good watch but ultimately disappointing.

This story was very well told, and it carried through all what happened and the acting was awesome, but it could of had more to it and more detail to the story instead of just like oh let's just get it over with and finish the story!

This story tells two young men who enters the upper class world and become ultra rich through dubious means. The story is mesmerising. It captivates me throughout, because of several reasons. On one hand, it offers a dream of upward social mobility, which is appealing to watch. On the other hand, it is only a matter of time when the whole house of cards collapses. The two lead actors are charming and are very likable. I enjoyed watching this film.
