tequila101 When I was a kid, I saw this in the video store every time wondering what the hell this was about. I used to think that it would be all about these icons fighting each other and then only one surviving. Boy, I was wrong about that. Instead it turns out to be a compilation of 17 famous slashers, hackers, etc (do I need to say more!?).When I picked it up last year, I thought well it's a compilation and it's gonna suck! Once again, I was freakin wrong! All I'm going to say is when I watched this DVD, it inspired me to watch Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Leprechaun, Halloween, The Dentist, Psycho, Hellrasier, Wishmaster, Scream & I Know what you did Last Summer. For me it was really inspiring because I had never heard nor never seen most of them before. It was at that stage where I only liked Chucky, Freddy & Jason and I never really wanted anything else to do with Horror. These days, it's now changed. I'm really glad I watched this, and now own the DVD because now I can remember all of the good times watching Leatherface or Michael Myers in action on the screen for the first time.I will have to admit that some of those other characters didn't look that interesting but oh well.I will say that if you haven't seen this yet, you should definitely go to your video store right now and borrow it and if you can ever buy it for under $6.00, I suggest you swipe it. It inspires you to watch Icons that you've never seen before on the screen. I loved it because it inspired me to get into horror more. One more thing, the bonus features are fun and you might want to give that a try as well as some trailers that you might not have seen.7/10
callanvass mediocre flick is fairly well done but the choices were questionable and i already know tons about the horror genre being a huge horror fan like myself it was fun to see them make a movie about all the legends it's just it's no better then average ** out of 5
MetalCasket "The Ultimate Horror Experience with the most terrifying scenes in the history of horror"... Is that legal? Such a movie is a great idea yet the people who put this thing together must have not been thinking clearly to pin such a tag line to this video. The movie supposedly features some of the most terrifying scenes from horror movies ever put on film yet what it delivers is mainly a showcase of horror icons (It pains me to call some of them that for they truly aren't.) and someone scene of them doing what they do best. The sad part is that only a handful of scenes actual belong here, namely 4 : The Texas Chainsaw Massacre; A Nightmare on Elm Street; Psycho; and Halloween. And when I mean they belong here, I truly believe that the belong here, These 4 scenes are some of the best in the horror genre and arguably best in cinema. That last minutes of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Psycho, and Halloween are what the horror genre is all about. I would list Friday the 13th but they chose a really bad scene of Jason Vorhees not killing anyone. The rest are just filler that have no business being on such a video with such a title. 'The Fisherman' and 'Ghostface' on here?... huh? That's not scary, that's MTV Teeny Bopper Happy horror, if it can be called 'horror'. They also chose a bad scene for Chucky, they should have chose the scene from the first Child's Play where Andy's mother realizes that the doll has no batteries. What pains me is that some titles are overlooked such as scenes from The Exorcist, the first minutes of Night of The Living Dead, and scenes from Silence of The Lambs. Also the list at the end of the video disgusted me on how some people ranked things. I agreed with a few but others I couldn't think could be anymore wrong. In conclusion I would recommend this movie to anyone who was never really into horror, but be warned only a few of the movie scenes stay true to the title.
krkptr1 Boogeymen is nothing more than an over-marketed informational piece of nonsense. And not even a good piece of informative garbage. It reveals nothing about any of the proclaimed "Boogeymen" that isn't already obvious. Example: Freddy Krueger - Stalks his victims in their dreams. Wears a glove with knives for fingers. Or; Chucky - A Killer Doll!!!All Boogeymen is is a poorly construed mish-mash of clips from various horror movies. Even most of the clips were a disapointment. Bottom line: Don't waste your time, go and rent the real thing.
