This is one of the best films I have ever seen and my favorite LGBT one. I watched this movie while surfing Netflix and fell in love with it quickly. I woke up the next morning with memories of the film on my mind. I watched it again the next night. I have not had a movie move me so powerfully before watching Jongens. It left a strange combination of melancholy and beauty with me. I thought of it often throughout the day. Why? Everything about the film works. The cinematography is exceptional. The filming locations were great choices and all of the scenes have a certain pristine feel, echoing the feeling of young love between the characters. The actors deliver heartfelt performances, creating a very genuine feel to the film. The subtlest expressions on their faces show what the characters are feeling. The story line is also very good - Sieger grapples with his sexuality and you can see him trying to accept himself for who he is. In addition, he is stuck in situations socially and at home. The cherry on top is the soundtrack. The audio is mesmerizing and adds to the overall feeling of the film. To conclude, Jongens is a beautifully crafted, incredible, haunting tale of love. This is a must-watch for everyone.

I Really loved this movie, i think that seems like Shelter, another excellent movie.This movies is very intense, sweet, innocent and proves that don't need do/be a vulgar movie to do a great movie. The actors surprise me, i never see them before and i guess they are very good, even that some parts could be more worked, the movie transmit this message and make us stay very attempt all movie. The only think that should made, is show more about their love, and if they come out for their family. this is it, a recommend to everyone see this movie, it is worth it. I hope see more movies with gay theme, with a history like that.sorry about my English, still learning to write.

This review is not going to contain spoilers. It was a very nice film. Family relationships, love, denial, hurt. All of it was in this movie. It really made me care for the characters and their stories, it kept me interested, sometimes even on the edge of my seat, up to the last seconds of it. The one main disadvantage i found was it was not fully elaborated in my opinion. I think the film had much more potential, if only it were longer and more developed. As I finished watching, I felt that many things could have been more elaborated and developed, stories and characters in the movie did not reach their full potential. I felt that many important things stayed undeveloped, under the surface and between the lines. Now, the ending - (no spoilers) it felt somewhat forced and rushed to me. Although I was more or less pleased with it, I didn't feel that there was a proper closure to the movie. All in all, it was a very nice movie, although not providing proper closure to several things.

Theme: "Jongens" is a coming of age drama. It's about accepting one's own homosexuality, and the struggle that comes along. The love story is pure and natural, set to the background of an all male sports team for teenagers.Photography: "Jongens" (Boys) has the most incredibly and beautiful imagery you can wish for, both in landscapes as well as sports and love. This movie is almost entirely shot outside at Utrechtse Heuvelrug (Utrecht wolds), a very green part of the Netherlands, and nearby lakes. The surroundings breathe innocence and flourishing life. It challenges physical exercising. Camera man Melle van Essen has done a great job. Young actors Gijs Blom and Ko Zandvliet are brilliant. This movie is excellent educational material for high school students because homophobia is still an issue world wide.I'm not going to tell you the story, and you better don't read it elsewhere, just watch and enjoy it.
