Saiph90 I wish I could give this -1, it was up there with one of the worst movies I have ever endured. Where do you start, well here is what I learned.1 You get anyone and their relatives to write a review to boost the rating. 2 There is so little to do in Australia that it is better to travel hundreds of miles to stay in a s### hole rather than spend time next to a pool with a few beers. 3 No matter if you have a huge beer gut, wear women's knickers and have the social skills of a wilder beast you are still attractive to the stunning brunette because you are called donkey. 4 When confronted by a bloke who looks like the side of a house and has a four feet machete you should stumble up the riverbank naked and call him "a retard". 5 Although it took them a few days driving and camping their boxer mate can teleport there. 6 When said boxer arrives he thinks it is a good idea to offer the seven foot machete wielding maniac a Queensberry rules boxing match. This film was awful and the makers knew it was stinking the place out so thought we will make it funny so everyone knows we are doing it tongue in cheek. Unfortunately it is neither funny or a horror movie. There is no empathy with the characters you start rooting for Charlie. Australia is a beautiful, fascinating country but this manages to waste it, it wants to be Woolf Creek but ends up as time you will never get back, I have been more horrified by finding we had run out of coffee than anything in this movie.
GL84 Heading off on a trip together, a group of friends decide to investigate the truth about an urban legend involving a killer boy living in an isolated house only to stumble upon the actual killer and must find a way to hold him off and get away alive. This one was quite the fun if slightly-flawed slasher. One of the film's better elements here is that there's a rather strong and traditional set-up that plays into the confines of the genre really well, as the urban-folklore backstory used here is the perfect introduction to the killer. The rather simple nature of the story that's told here and the accompanying flashback telling the story of the family tormenting the lone backpacker before they get ambushed by the posse which turns into a fine bit of vigilante justice that's quite an appropriate set-up here for the killer's background. Once it starts in on the slashing scenes, there's some great fun to be had here with the hulking, deformed killer getting into a nice series of stalking scenes featuring him chasing them around the house, from the opening attack on the lost backpackers to the scenes in the barn going after their new friends as well as the fine chases of the couple down at the lake. The last half hour likewise has some great times here with the discovery of the killer as he slaughters them throughout the house and engages in a brutal fist-fight with their late-arriving friend that's filled with some nice brutal deaths mixed in with some really good chasing, and the moments in the underground den makes for some chilling moments with the darkened location and nauseating conditions of the bodies left down there with the killer right after her is a great finish. Complete with the fine make-up on the killer and some rather fun gore- effects, these here are enough to hold this up over the few flaws present. The biggest issue with the film is the fact that there's just such a bland, overlong first-half filled with absolutely overlong sections here that just eat up running time with them traveling to the house and waiting around the house which offers up very little of anything interesting within here. It's not all that much fun to get the same lame jokes about their friend repeated over and over in here while also featuring nothing of any special interest throughout as the whole section of the running time in here is bland time-wasting scenes that prevent the slashing from happening. That also means the film tends to get rushed through in the finale where it really runs through the kill scenes which mean that they're action-packed yet not really all that creepy or chilling and it comes off as a series of missed opportunities due to the extended first half. The only other issue here is the lack of explanation as for why the killer's been alive all this time out in the bush of wild Australia without anything as far as parental guidance, but otherwise this one wasn't all that bad.Rated R: Graphic Violence, Graphic Language and Nudity.
Tanya Michelle As an Aussie, I am truly ashamed of this so called horror. I'd hate people to think this is the kind of crap we produce.I have no idea who the people are rating it so high, but I'm sure they have been paid to do so.The actors were mundane and monotone. I was glad when they were slain. The Charlie character was unbelievable, down to the silly contacts he wore. Some movies are so bad, they're good. This is not one of them.I think IMDb need to check who is writing these reviews, as I cannot see how people are raving on about how fantastic the film is, and how awesome the acting was. I've seen better acting on Neighbours.
Guus Janssen I've seen my fair share of low budget horror movies and horror movies in general and a lot of the recent ones are really bad. But Charlie's Farm must be one of the worst I've ever seen.If i had to sum up everything that was bad about this movie, the 1000 word maximum wouldn't be enough, so I'll just keep it short. The movie is extremely boring, it takes about an hour of mindless wondering and some of the worst dialogue I've ever heard in a film before something even remotely exciting happens. The characters are so dumb and so shallow that it isn't even fun to watch anymore. Low budget slashers tend to have generic and just plain lazy character decisions, but I haven't seen it as bad as this in a while. They have no back story, no depth and are constantly doing the opposite of believable. The 'crazy bad guy' is really just the same as in every horror movie ever done and he first has to get his teddy bear back before he starts killing them and hunting them down?! What on earth was that?I could go on and on with examples of why this movie is just utter crap, but I'll spare everyone the trouble. Please don't go see this movie, you will definitely be disappointed. The only good things about this movie were the great scenery and locations and there were some pretty cool kills in it. But other then that, it's not worth the watch. Just stay away from it.
