Mihai Toma When her husband misses his surprise birthday party, his wife Catherine starts suspecting him cheating with a student. Thus, she hires Chloe to try and seduce him, in order to prove her theory. As Chloe describes their adventures in great detail, Catherine becomes more and more jealous, but things are about to take a very unexpected turn, one which surprises her as well, tending to put their family into jeopardy. This movie graphically describes how a very wealthy and suspicious wife decides to act when she suspects infidelity from her husband. The implications are far deeper than any imagination, thus bringing a whole new intrigue to the story. It's an unexpected turnover which the plot takes, taking everyone by surprise and contributing to the suspenseful atmosphere. It's dramatic and emotional, bringing new aspects as the story unravels, managing to maintain the mystery until the end. I enjoyed the main characters performances, their acts and reactions contributing a lot to the unfortunate situation. The only downsides I can see are the fact that it was a bit predictable in the beginning, a bit boring at times and some characters were somehow annoying, not fully understanding their role in the plot. Otherwise, a very good movie.
eabra48463 "Chloe" is a film that is well-crafted in many ways, yet still manages to be ridiculous and predictable in the end. A physician wife believes her college professor husband is cheating on her with young co-eds. So, she naturally hires a hooker (Chloe) to entrap her husband. Chloe comes forth with all sorts of details of "interactions" with the woman's husband, so much so that the woman herself is turned on by the descriptions. She, ironically, then jumps into bed with Chloe. The acting in this film is actually very good overall, despite the weak dialogue they have to work with here. There are, however, so many silly components to the movie that it is hard not to laugh. For instance, Chloe describes a romantic picnic in the park that was supposedly held with the physician's husband; yet, the entire films takes place in the middle of the freaking' winter with snow and slush all over the ground! Also, when the woman's affair with Chloe is revealed to her husband, he acts like she just told them the cable TV is out or something--no big deal. Let's not forget that the physician believes this hooker is completely credible with her stories with not the slightest hint of evidence that they are actually true. Perhaps we're supposed to believe the physician wants the stories to be true. Finally, the wrap-up of the movie depends upon what has to be the flimsiest window ever constructed. If you're in the mood for the erotic thriller genre, this one is okay, but be prepared for a film that doesn't entirely add up.
Raul Faust Well, I've been told good about "Chloe" for a long time, and last week I decided watching it. From the get go, I could feel there was something about Chloe that would be eventually discovered. Chloe is a girl that gets paid in order to find out if the husband is cheating on the wife. However, things don't go according to plan, and all of a sudden, Chloe is hooking up with the whole family; for some reason, she is capable of seducing everyone out there, albeit she never confesses it. In her opinion, she is just being used by everybody. In this context, Seyfried's character is very covert, causing a BIG mess to each member of the family, and maybe that's why this movie feels so intense. Julianne Moore's character, for instance, gets SO mad and perplexed with Chloe's power to manipulate her that she can't even express it; instead of yelling at her, Dr. Catherine Stewart just pays more money and asks Chloe's, gently, to leave her alone. Maybe that happens because Catherine is just too scared to carry that on. Anyways, the film is great when trying to show how far people can go to reinvent their lives, and the professional cast is quite able to transmit all the feelings they are supposed to be dealing with.
2fresh 2clean From the start I was comparing this film to "Nathalie", the original French version of this film. They're pretty much the same besides the few twists that occur in this film. Like the original Catherine (Julianne Moore) hires a prostitute, Chloe (Amanda Seyfried), to seduce her husband, David (Liam Neeson), whom she thinks is cheating on her. I wasn't surprised at anything that happened in this film being that I saw the original French version but I thought it was still pretty good and it still kept me interested. One extremely good thing about this film was the cast. Being that Liam Neeson is one of my favorite actors and I enjoy seeing Julianne Moore's work I couldn't pass this film up. both of them were momentous. This film was a little different from the others I've seen Amanda Seyfried in but she was well fitted for the part. This film, like it's French original, is pretty decent. Rather you see one or the other or both it really doesn't matter. Like I said earlier they're pretty much what and what.
