bantaka-22610 I found this video to be informative and gave me a glimpse into the women's view of the computer sciences. I believe this field needs to be promoted in the early stages of middle school, at least so kids know this is a very viable option no matter the race or gender. The young are the ones we need to focus on, and by giving them a new and better perspective of the computer sciences, namely, coding and programing, we could raise the number of interested youth by a lot.
kmk-67479 There may be a spoiler in this review. This movie was really an eye opener regarding women in the coding field. I didn't realize that there is still such a stereotype and harassment issue in the workplace. I didn't even think that computer science would be similar to a woman trying to work in the mines or in construction. The real-life examples of what women are facing in the computer science field was filmed well. I really liked hearing the history of women coders as well. I was completely unaware of the history behind coding and that two women made a big change in computer science. Overall the film was informative and well done. I think that the language that was used was a little unnecessary but that is just my opinion.
kingdombuilderofgod This film touched on different issues. It allowed us to see what fields were needed and how women are for filling these positions. It gave us an overview of what coding is and how it is needed. Coding is an important part of our day to day living and will be a field that will always need people. This film also shows how women are starting to dominant certain fields that use to be known for men. Overall, I believe this film touch on many issues that women face when it comes to a man dominating workforce.
derekmyers A wonderfully engaging look of the issues that apply to women in tech industries, software engineers in particular. The documentary takes a great look into the inter-sectional issues that have led to such a low number of women in tech. The documentary examines the historical contributions of women in coding and the decline of their numbers; the "brogrammer" culture that has increasingly led to sexism, exclusion, and harassment; and the grassroots steps being taken to increase computer sciences, not only for women but for all underrepresented groups. This documentary shows a hopeful way forward for improving the tech industry as a whole.
