fattarden@hotmail.com 'Eleganten från vidderna - filmen om Eddie Meduza' tells the tale of Swedens most infamous entertainer, Eddie Meduza. The documentary was great with lots of informative interviews with family members, former school teachers, musicians and different people from the music business about his different endeavors. Most of it was put under the looking glass: the early days, his name change, his transition to the raunchy musician and entertainer he is so well known for, his different stage personalities and finally his destructive nature with alcohol. But while it was entertaining and of course sad (it was quite painful to hear him talk so openly about his abuse) I couldn't help but feel that the documentary only scratched the surface on a very complex and multifaceted person. Things that was missing from the picture was the famous feud he had with the Swedish record company mogul Bert Karlsson and his special views on the sports and music journalist Mats Olsson. (The former was interviewed in the documentary, but only briefly.) One other thing that was really annoying and anticlimactic was that only one person gave his reflection of his untimely death. It would've been really nice to hear all of the participants in the documentary give their final thoughts of his passing.
