crazyjanie I'm giving this movie a 10 because I saw it on the same night I saw THE MARKSMAN. That movie sucked major. Snipes is finished. He should be glad he had a career or something.FUGITIVE HUNTER was so much better than Marksman because it had a STORY!! Can you believe some movie makers forget to include that? I bought both films on Amazon together for a discounted price... who would have thought the cheaper looking movie would be way better? Not me.For my money (of which they already stole from me) FUGITIVE HUNTER wipes the floor with THE MARKSMAN!
Ancient_Evil_Eye In reading all the comments posted about this film I get the sense that either people really like this or they really hate it. I really feel something like in the middle. A friend of mine bought rented this movie and made me watch it because he likes to watch direct to DVD action movies. I'm not to groovy with his taste in movies but when we watched it I felt like it was a decent movie. Looked cheap at times but I guess that's why I never heard of it before. I 'm not a critic but I know this movie wasn't great nor was it bad it was just... direct to DVD. The funky constitution talk was interesting since we Canadians generally laugh at all that talk. Kinda sad how the friend dies though but I saw it coming from the beginning though. Overall I give it a 6 or so because I didn't fall asleep as usually do I with my chum. Don't recall ever watching a movie that was that into bounty hunting.
ethanco86 Why do people have to copy films they see instead of making something original? There is nothing new or interesting in this movie. It looks like a bad DV movie. Rehashes of tired slo-mo shooting scenes, that are poor copies at that, and staged fights. Don't people realize that it's the film that shows something different and unique or weird that gets noticed? Seems like the filmmakers in Sacramento are still trying to ride the coattails of Blood, Guts, and Octane. A fluke of film that happened to hit at a time right when that whole indie Clerks/Pulp Fiction thing was big. But this is the to be expected, the outcome of mediocrity. I just hope one day people will wake up and see that.
cylmart I viewed this film privately during an acquisitions meeting in Santa Monica. I was somewhat interested in the general premise of this film but wasn't sure of how it would deliver. After a few minutes I realized that this was a gem of a micro-budget film. It follows an engaging story line that gets straight to the point, while not being obvious. The characters are unique. The dialogue is rough, but funny. The overall tone of the film follows more of a 80's action flick. Due to the film's lack of budget there are no special effects, but believe it or not it's not missed. Don't let the budget ($80k) deter you from watching this as the producers of this film stretched every dollar as far they could. The film actually looks like it could have easily cost close to $1 Million.Overall, this is great piece of film that nobody will probably watch. It's also a great learning tool for those that wish to make films on the dime. I don't know if there's going to be a commentary on the DVD or not, but it would be a good idea. I recommend this film to anyone that enjoys taking a risk on something that they normally wouldn't see.
