Reviews

a g I was taken aback by the "5.4" rating on IMDb, as I write this review. This deserves at least a 7+ rating. This movie is certainly one of the best movies of 2013.Great plot - kept me hooked on till the end. Great acting - all the actors did justice to their characters. Great humor - a bit dark, but every bit amusing! There are few movies, who have enough masala and don't show all the punch dialogues in the trailer these days. This was where 'Go, Goa, Gone' disappointed. And, frankly there are very movies which 'really' keep you guessing till the very last second - literally! 'Special 26' failed to do that. I don't want to reveal the plot here, but it is really very well executed. Some of the viewers found Vidya Balan's character overbearing and irritating - this really means that she acted very well. Her character was supposed to be overboard and gaudy, and imho it was well done...Please don't miss this movie.
saad_khi Yeah! The fork here is a weapon to reckon with! If you, with a black sense of humor, can overlook done to death 'abusing the posterior' dialogues and the run of the mill 'déjà vu' character at the railway station then this one will keep you glued!Seriously: The pace didn't drag nor did I find the proceedings repetitive Balan wasn't over at all. In fact she should have been a tad crazier Hashmi carried the role with aplomb - after Shanghai The rest of the cast did a fine job Music is totally different and one of a kind! Balan and Hashmi's chemistry comes alive with well written dialogues, and it's like watching a real life couple Raj Kumar Gupta shows versatility after the serious Aamir and JessicaOn the other hand looking back smiling: Did Uttam really win a lottery ticket? Was Neetu really going to visit her sister in London? Was she really speaking to her sister on the phone? Apart from the suitcase full of money there was a bag too! So, who had it? Was it a coincidence Neetu met Uttam while checking an apartment to buy like she told Sunju when he suspects her having an affair with him? What exactly happened to Sunju that lead to sporadic amnesia? Where did Neetu had the dresses stitched? How much truth did Neetu tell Sunju when he angrily reacts saying she didn't inform him about this and that? The above questions are like salt at times missing from Neetu's cooking, but at the same time add mystery in the right amount to enjoy this crazy concoction! I hope it's a sleeper hit like 'Fukrey'!(Thought balloon: Is there a director's cut? With Sunjay Dutt's special appearance and some (missing) scenes like Neetu with an aerosol.)
silvan-desouza Even though the film is hardly more then 2 hours, yet it seems lengthy. Rajkumar Gupta after the superb riveting Aamir(2008) and No One Killed Jessica(2010) tries to change tracks and make a caper kinda comic thriller film. The film has a good premise and starts off well, Emraan and Vidya's banter is well handled, the bank robbery too is well handled and then the going-ons get entertaining when the 2 enter their house to find out where is the money, The film slowly starts wearing out as it does get predictable, yet it startles you when the fingers point towards different directions, The climax though hatke may not appeal to all yet it works wellDirection by Rajkumar Gupta is good Writing is a bit flawed Music is okay Emraan Hashmi has grown a lot since his Aashiq Banaya days and yet again he proves he is a fantastic performer, he handles his role superbly Vidya Balan who gets a comic role does a superb job Rajesh Sharma and Namit Das are superb in their roles Pravin Dabas has 1 scene
Ravi Suman The movie is set to disappoint you with an easily guessed end.The movie started well but somewhere around the middle it started to falter. An attempt of Dark Comedy has been made though with not much of success resulting in forced comedy.Acting has been good from both the co-stars but in vain.Emraan Hashmi seems to be getting better and better with every movie that he signs and so does Vidya. The ending could have been made much better but ultimately the writer seems to have decided to stick to Bollywood style. The music is good.Viewers can give the movie a shot but at the same time not being too much hopeful of it.Overall Rating-(5.5/10)
