'Green Zone (2010)' is actually a corporate conspiracy thriller that uses the Iraq war as a back-drop for its action set-pieces and fairly contrived government-meddling plot, rather than using it as a means to uncover the truth behind the real-life events (which it occasionally appears to think it's doing) and, as such, will likely alienate a large portion of the audience who think they're meant to be seeing an accurate representation of the complex situation but are instead presented with numerous inconsistencies and inaccuracies. These inaccuracies do thankfully lead to some passively entertaining sequences and a generally anti-war, or rather anti-war-as-a-means-to-an-end, message, though. While it would certainly seem that Greengrass' signature, and at this point solitary, shaky style should be the perfect match for the hectic rush of war-time battle, at times it appears as though he has devolved into a parody of himself - his skill lost amidst the sea of second-rate copy-cats that emerged after the success of his 'Bourne' titles. Some sequences are literally difficult to look at and even harder to follow, to the point that every scene becomes an action-scene and the worst are pure chores to sit through. It gets to be amateur stuff at times and, were it not for the credits and the inclusion of several A-list actors, it almost appears like the work of an ambitious student on a relatively meagre budget - inexcusable for a man of his talent with this many resources behind him. 5/10

This movie is based on the non-fiction book "Imperial Life in the Emerald City" that documented life in the Green Zone in Baghdad during the 2003 Iraq invasion. I never read the book so I don't know how much truth is behind the film but I am impressed at how critical it is of the American society. The plot revolving around a non-existent WMD (weapon of mass destruction) is suspenseful. I really like the raw and truthfulness of the film. Two quotes stuck with me from this film: 1) Freddy to Miller: "It is not for you to decide what happens here." I think that's like a reality check. (Speaking in the context of the film) The Americans were too caught up with power and the idea they were doing a good thing because democracy is good to really care of the sufferers, the locals.2) General Al Rawi to Miller: "Your government wanted to hear the lie, Mr. Miller...". For some reason this really stuck me as the truth of our actual society and the whole point of the movie.

Very exciting movie. To bad it is based on untrue facts. The US did find 5000 WMD.I have no idea why the government didn't release the truth until this past year. It is a shame that they didn't let the public know the real truth. I have no idea why INDB wants 10 lines. but here goes. Academy Award nominees Mat Damon and director Paul Geengrassjoin together in this action-packed thriller. Damon stars as Roy Miller, a rouge US Army officer who must hunt through covert and faulty intelligence hidden on foreign soil before war escalates in a unstable region. Also staring Greg Kinnear and Amy Ryan. Green Zone is "One Hell Of A Thriller" Rodger Ebert.

Good action and a thrilling ride in it's places. But in the end a lot of motion picture, and not enough quality content, to get a simple truth to the audience. Which anyone whit a pea-size brain should have figured out LONG before this movie. And that is: The Iraq invasion was founded on a big LIE. WMD, what a sham... but if you tell a lie enough times(propaganda-repetition trough mainstream media) everyone tends to believe it... just because it's repeated, over and over and over. Easy right? Matt Damon does a solid performance. But i don't like the shaky camera works, just like in the Bourne series...to distracting.6 out of 10.Cheers
