Verdugo85 Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers is the scariest sequel and yes, its way better than Halloweens 5, H20 and Resurrection.According to this film, Dr. Wynn (who made a cameo in the original) is the good old friend and colleague of Dr. Loomis has been the leader of a cult called Thorn, he's the one responsible for turning Michael Myers into an unstoppable serial killer and has been controlling Michael. This implies that Michael Myers was always "the victim" and Wynn was the real villain from the beginning..I dont think so. I know alot of fans hate this film, well I mean, they hate the theatrical cut because that version makes no sense, ok I agree, and that the producer's cut is recommended. I've seen both versions and prefer the theatrical cut. I dont care if the plot/story is messy my only concern was the Michael Myers character. The theatrical version is scary, dark, brutal, creepy and Michael Myers is a badass and a monster compared to the producer's cut. Another reason why I prefer the theatrical version is because it shows that evil cant be controlled. Michael brutally kills "his creator" Dr. Wynn and his staffs. Overall, Michael's evil still remains a mystery how it should be and I prefer it that way.The ending when it shows Michael's mask on the floor and you hear a horrified screaming, Jesus that freaked me out.
IssaGuy The trouble production ruined the film for me. This is the same problem with Fant4stic and it is the Fant4stic of Halloween movies. And this is the worst out of the John Carpenter series (even more insulting than Resurrection). I guess we need more rewrites to make the movie better! Bad writing, poor acting, weak script, and bad story. The Michael Myers Character is almost ruined by the cult background story that could been easily removed. We don't want to know that as a die-hard fan. Thank god H20 is created!
newchristmasdreams In this sequel it has been years since Jamie and Michael disappeared. At the same time "Michael Myers Survivor" Tommy Doyle(From Halloween 1) has moved into the boarding house across the street from Michael's original home. He knows that this "Halloween" Michael will return and he is waiting. Now living in the old Myers House is Michael's uncle (Why didn't he Now Daniel Farrands picked up the threads that were left behind from "Halloween 5" which included "The Man in Black". In this we learn who he is. What is shocking was that years later the writer/director of "Halloween 5" (Dominique Othenin-Girard) said that was something they added when they were shooting the film. Now much of the production and production problems have been told over the years. One problem was the production budget was cut while they were shooting forcing script changes. When the film was subject to the test audience the response wasn't good and the film was sent back into production. When we finally got to see the "Producers Cut" it is slightly better but not much. The Original Theatrical ending was one big What the Heck moment! I was saw it at the theaters and was mad and I thought that would be the last "Halloween" movie. It grossed less than $16,000,000. 3 years later however the producers were wise and ignored "Halloween 4-6" when Jamie Lee Curtis returned to play Laurie Strode. It was a wise move. "Halloween 4" was great. "Halloween 5" and "Halloween VI" were not only creative failures but box office failures as well! "Halloween H20" when that was released took in more money at the box office then the combined gross of "Halloween IV- VI".
Realrockerhalloween Spoilers belowWhere to start here. Halloween 6 has to be the one that suffered most. Not only was the production troubled from the beginning, but five version exist of this film containing alternate scenes due to the directors wanting different directions for the story.I'll stuck with the main two since they both have the major difference between one another. The producer's cut was the superior film that was shot. It starts off with Jamie being kidnapped and imprisoned by a cult who passes on Thorn. Thorn is a demon who desires sacrifices in exchange for prosperity. Sounds like season of the witch revisited. In fact Cockran reminds me a lot of Wynn in demeanor and goals. In the director's cut the cult is replaced by scientists who want to harbor the curse to cute diseases. How they know or even can extract it is a toss up in the air.The music for each consists of a haunting melody and a guitar rip you'd expect to hear on MTV. The director ends in mystery of Michael and Loomis. Some think he finally killed the good doctor for he encountered something much worse. A licker from resident evil perhaps? The other shows Wynn trading places with his monster. The date of Jamie Llyode is either thrashed on a corn shredder ten minutes in or lying in a hospital bed and being shot by Dr. Wynn. Why not let Michael do it is the only issue with this scene for me. I mean does Wynn have the power to have sacrifices homered and does it count? Both stories still leave a lot of unanswered questions and plot holes. Still when I think of Halloween 6 I go with the coherent story in the producer's cut. The atmosphere is wonderful, the music enchanting, characters more fleshed out and it makes a tad more sense.7/0
