This movie has many different great aspects. Its a funny screwball comedy that many could relate too. As the movie starts the first thing you see that stands out is Hildy in her outfit, all stripes and over the top. The next is the obvious feeling that Walter Burns still holds for Hildy, as he welcomes her to sit on his lap as he says "there's a lamp been burning in the window for you hunny". This becomes the focus of the movie.
The futile attempts of Walter makes this movie comical in the way that he tries and his creativity in which he does it, time after time. The movie turns into a whirl wind of mystery and big news stories that are combined artfully with laughs and comical jokes.

I did not expect this movie to be the way that it was, but I was blown away! A beautiful, hilarious mix of comedy, drama and heart. Cary Grant and Rosalind Russell were masters of their craft, with a palpable chemistry between their characters due to their proficiency in acting. The side characters were wonderful as well, enhancing the story without taking focus away from the main players or the plot. The cinematography was excellent, they managed to do so much within the newspaper room, where a majority of the movie takes place but it manages to never make the audience feel like they're stuck there. I didn't expect the drama but I think it very much enhanced the film, adding stakes to what was already a seat-gripping story. This truly elevated the screwball comedy genre and both Cary and Rosalind's career to new heights, delivering a sucker-punch of a performance that leaves you breathless.

His Girl Friday is a witty, fast talking, story that takes an original route. Two characters with a shared past, experience the limits of their professions as well as their love. Sometimes it only takes a life experience to make you realize what was meant to be. Cary Grant, and Rosalind Russel do an great job personifying their characters, making the film feel authentic and their characters Walter and Hildy, convincing and endearing. Although the plot isn't the strongest, nor the most engaging to the audience, the protagonists as well as the supporting cast carry the movie to the level of notoriety it holds today.

This movie is very well done and written, it is just so fast paced where i felt like i missed a lot. Really enjoyed the film though, i loved the strong female lead. It was super cool how the director weaved in two different story lines into the movie. The love triangle of Hildy, Walter, and Bruce. I was a little disappointed in the ending as i was hoping Hildy would've turned down Walter. I guess it wouldn't be a screwball comedy if they didn't end up together in the end though.
