Oliver Sachs This movie is about soldiers from two sides of the war working together to survive the harsh weather conditions of Norway. This movie is great because it shows that both British and German soldiers are human. One scene in particular really shows their human side. This movie also had some very disturbing thoughts and images, mainly to do with wounds. If your not a fan of those things, it might not be as good to you. Rupert Grint's performance was very enjoyable as well as the rest of the cast. This movie was executed perfectly, only with some minor flaws in the pacing of it.
theduddlers This movie was one of the biggest surprises of 2013... When I looked it up I noticed it was very low budget and it didn't seem to be very interesting. That was the case in the beginning, it was very boring to be honest and you weren't very interested. But when the movie really got going, things started to get very exciting. The conflicts between the two forces were very enjoyable and I sat glued to my seat to follow every detail. To see these two enemy forces work together for survival made my heart warm. It was a very emotional and beautiful movie all the way to the end and I can recall a tear falling down my cheek once or twice. Something they have succeeded with splendidly is the characters. Every character in this movie is getting close to your heart and you care about them. The performances from the actors were overall solid and no one were in particularly bad in any way. Some of them stood over the rest though, especially Florian Lukas and Rupert Grint. For being such a low budget movie it is very good and the beautiful story makes it well worth a 9/10 rating!
marshreed I am at a loss to understand how this Petter Naess masterpiece didn't merit a single nomination by the Academy. Perhaps the Academy's Nominations Coordinator was a former member of the Wehrmacht who couldn't fathom the concept of a Nazi soldier demonstrating warmth.Into the White is the story of the crew of a British and a German fighter plane, each of which crash-lands in the Norwegian tundra. In the midst of a blizzard, the five surviving soldiers (two British; three German) clamor for shelter and quickly find themselves sharing tight quarters in a nearby abandoned cabin. The soldiers' blood-lust quickly wanes in the absence of a windshield and airspace. The tension is palpable. Will they kill each other or will humanity prevail? This question will keep you from so much as a bathroom break; Into the White is a cinematic page-turner and its conclusion does not disappoint. While all five actors were excellent, Florian Lukas (Lieutenant Schopis) was superb. Schopis is the quintessential ranking German officer, cool and methodical. As resources become scarce and the situation deteriorates, Lukas does a phenomenal job of exposing the cracks in Schopis' emotional armor until either morality or duty to country must prevail.Into the White is a beautiful film. So rarely does one come across a movie combining such fine acting, cinematography and suspense. I will be on the lookout for future Naess flicks. Hopefully his handiwork will be met with greater recognition in the future.
Patxi_Espanol Dumb dialogs, stupid reactions. Guionist sitting at home never faced a gun. Writers cannot even think about what would it feel like seen a gun pointed at your nose. The setting had potential but it has been turned in a disaster. Characters react like nerds fighting over dinner... characters are stereotypes of stereotypes of themselves. Cold Germans smart English you know the drill Stupidest script I have seen in a while. Even if you are Norwegian and want to support your limited national output you cannot possibly support this type of movie. If you like me cannot stand irrational behavior just for the sake of filling 2 hours of movie this movie is not for you. Trust me... see something else!
