Ross622 This movie was an absolute mess of a movie i truly expected more from and I'm glad i never got to finish this movie while watching it today because of what an awful movie it really was. The movie stars Rick Moranis as Danny O'Shea a man whose daughter didn't make the pee-wee football team but then decides to form a football team of his own when there was a lot more bad players than good ones. Like I said before I truly expected more from this film because this movie focuses more on Danny and Kevin (played by Ed O'Neill) constantly arguing with each other instead of it focusing more on football than anything else. I mean if you are going to make a movie about pee-wee football then focus it on pee-wee football instead of something else. The acting for this movie is just plain terrible just like the movie is. All Ed O'Neill does to Rick Moranis in this movie is just try to make him feel bad. Before i watched this movie i thought it was going to be as good as other great football movies such as Remember the Titans, and Invincible. This movie is one of 1994's worst films ever and when i was watching it i was desperate for it to end.
Lee Eisenberg Mostly, "Little Giants" is the average movie in which against all odds a ragtag team takes on the big guys (others in this vein include "The Mighty Ducks" and "The Big Green"). But I thought that in the end, it did come out slightly more interesting than the average such flick (maybe because of what happens at the very end). Maybe Rick Moranis ("Ghostbusters") and Ed O'Neill ("Married...with Children") in the roles improve the quality. You can probably guess which scenes were my favorites when I was ten years old. Nowadays, I wouldn't go out of my way to watch this movie. One of the reasons that the Irish movie "The War of the Buttons" was so good is that the two sides were equally matched. Anyway, OK in a pinch.
mtr0118 Watching this comic film about two brothers facing each other on the football field as coaches was very humorous, especially Ed Oneal's Kevin Oshea. His attitude nearly resembled a combination of Mika ditka and Tom Landry. No wonder why Rick Moranis' Danny told him off, "Who the hell do you think you are? Vince Lombardi? These are kids." That was probably the line that lay-ed out the plot of the picture. The Ice Box was nearly cute as she had her crush on her own QB. It was very nice to see Hall of Famer John Madden do a cameo appearance as he got lost on his way to Canton, Ohio.If the action on the field would of been filmed as detailed as in Bend in on Beckham(2004) Little Giants would have been really for everybody's enjoyment especially since this film is most possibly aimed at younger audiences. But I still give it a seven out of ten for its good effort to represent rivalry on a pee wee field. Spike stole the scene as a Dick Butkus like kid.
daydreamer78 a great script and wonderful casting makes this movies one of my favorites. the one thing i love about this movie is the relationship between the becky character and the junior character. they are good friends and it just a great aspect of the movie.another thing that makes this movie great is the casting. rick moranis,ed o'neil has brothers. and then devon swawa has the cute quarterback...now there is great casting...they couldn't have done a better job with that character. this movie is just a great film and i love it.... a movie that i could watch over and over again...in fact i do watch this movie over and over again...
