Love Birds is a good family movie. Its got a cute duck for the kids and some love and romance for the bigger kids. Its was funny enough to keep me interested to the end even thouhg the plot is a familiar cliché. Boy loses girl , boy changes his life and finds new girl, old girl returns, new girl gets jealous and so on. Its done well and Pierre the duck is a great actor.Rhys Darby is such a likable comedian. He makes anything look funny and carried this movie all the way to the end. I'm glad i watched it. It was entertaining without any hate or murder in the plot and no gruesome CGI effects. Just great characters and a nice story

Excellent movie! to those that find it not funny, it's probably because you have no concept of life in New Zealand. It is quirky. It is funny. It is a great story. Excellent movie. apparently i need 10 lines to be a real review, so i'll need to waffle on a bit more, but the just of this review remains. Good movie. If you want to watch something, be entertained, have a smile on your face and a happy tear in your eye, then watch this! Still got 3 more lines to go and the site warns me about padding the review, so i better stop and just be about the movie. Good to see Rhys being genuine and funny without trying too hard. Nice to see the mix of culture in the movie that New Zealand is fast becoming known for.

LOVE BIRD – TRASH IT ( F ) We've seen dogs, cats, horses, penguins, lions and even chicken movies so its time to see a Duck movie. sadly, its really average, trying to be funny and enjoyable but becomes pretty predictable and cliché.I didn't get why they can't be funny rather than pointless and boring.. the movie with animals or birds are usually funny because of the moments of actors with the birds sadly this doesn't have any moment than that. Except the duck was Quaking time to time. No comments on Ryhs Darby and Sally Hawkins, they were strictly okay. Being a New Zealand movie, still it was a trash.

Rhys Darby (the kiwi) and Sally Hawkins (English and in Made in Dagenham) are excellent. A great kiwi movie. Bryan Brown is Australian and so good as the eccentric. Faye Smythe as Alison is convincing. Some hilarious kiwi funny moments and some lovely scenes if a bit cheesy. Go and see it it is so good and engrossing.Don't be put off by the shorts they don't do it justice - they make it look like it is one huge cliché and it isn't. Filmed around some scenic spots of Auckland. Some of these have the makings of a backdrop that will become as recognisable as Sydney harbour. If you know Auckland at all you will enjoy picking where the movie was filmed.
