Davis P Mad Money is a very fun caper/comedy film that I always love seeing over and over again! The cast does a great job! Diane Keaton was awesome as the lead role! Also, Queen Latifah was very funny and enjoyable to watch as Nina. Then there's Katie Holmes, who I really liked as well, I didn't enjoy her performance quite as much as Queen Latifah and Diane Keaton's, but it was still fun to watch. Ted Danson is also here as Diane's husband, Don, and he was good in his role too. That was one of the movies biggest upside, the cast. The script was well written and amusing as well. The whole movie was filled with fun, comedic, and amusing entertainment! There was even heart warming moments thrown into the mix. Romance budded between some characters, and it shows good healthy friendship as well. This caper comedy is just a really fun time, and I would encourage you to go and buy or rent it one night, you will not be disappointed! 9/10 for Mad Money.
kai ringler Three women have a plot to swindle the Federal Reserve out of millions of cash before it is set out to be destroyed.. every year the federal reserve destroys worn out , and bills that are frayed , and such, well all that money has to go somewhere doesn't it?, yes it does,, but these clever ladies have other ideas for that money,, they figure that if the United States Government is going to destroy the money anyway,, then it really shouldn't be a crime afterall,, actually I don't think it should be either,, so these girls come up with a foolproof idea to steal the money,, but they do need some help, not a bad comedy,, Queen Latifah, Dianne Keaton, and of all people,, Katie Holmes,, along with Ted Danson,, this makes for a decent comedy.
Hamish Joy After getting into a heavy debt, socialite Bridget Cardigan gets a job as a janitor at the Federal Reserve Bank. She observes how they handle the bills scheduled for destruction and gets an idea how to sneak some of their money. She finds accomplices Nina (Queen Latifah) and Jackie (Katie Holmes) to sneak out large sums of money out on a regular basis. This is a fool proof plan, cos apparently, in this universe, there are no serial numbers or any other measures to identify stolen money.I like Diana Keaton. She's a very talented actress, and I would have thought this simple role would have been a piece of cake for her, but as a criminal mastermind, she really comes off as stupid and unbelievable. Partly because of the stupid plans her character executes, yes, but I gotta say - partly due to poor acting as well. It looks like she phoned this one in.Anyway, they escalate their crime further and include more accomplices - husbands and boyfriends - and greed keeps them in the game far longer than they had initially planned. But they keep at it as if it's the crime that simply cannot be caught. And Katie Holmes' character apparently has spider senses which tingle when danger lurks - seriously, they avoid their plan one day because she got a bad feeling, and it turned out that they had a surprise inspection that day, which could have got them caught. In one scene towards the end, she has a Wile E. Coyote style contraption set up to destroy evidence at her house. I don't know what they were aiming at with this character. The premise is ridiculous, and the characters'are just not persuasive. Especially their greed that makes them want to keep going at this - It just got way too surreal too fast.
razorramon-1 Bloody awful! A career low-light for Diane Keaton - what was she doing in this? I understand there are not enough solid roles available for "serious" actresses - but this poorly written and even worse acted heist comedy should have been avoided at all costs by any top actresses - especially former Oscar Winners!I typically enjoy heist movies - dramatic or comic - but this film was so weakly plotted it took all the fun out of it. The only thing worth while was the impetus for the heist - the current woeful economy we are all suffering through. That being said - don't throw away your precious dollars to rent this one. If you need a comic heist lift - pick up Woody Allen's classic, "Take the Money and Run". That one ALWAYS delivers!
