But it failed miserably with the crew not even sporting proper uniform, insignia, haircuts , protocol and mishmash of ridiculous situations. Do any of the seaman actual know how to handle a weapon? How did 3 detainees escape!? The shark probably got paid the best for his death scene as no one could shoot straight or hit people standing in the open with firearms! Or know how to call in for serious backup! This is the type of movie you root for the end to happen sooner , no no even sooner!

Okay, several characters, including Michael Madsen, are sporting haircuts that are not up to miltary specs. But the BIG mistake was in reference to Caroline Harris's character, which is listed as "Commander" Lynch. And all the characters in the movie refer to her as Commander Lynch. But she is wearing 0-3 insignia, which in the US Navy is a Lieutenant, not a Commander. A Commander is an 0-5. So I guess she got a promotion in the field, but did not bother to change her rank, correct???? Wrong, I'm going with this being a bad "B" movie and the miltary consultants did not do their job.John, A US Army veteran

If you know the military, you won't be able to stand more than a few minutes of this. Haircuts, beards, jewelry, stance, uniforms, to large, fake insignia, salutes and just about everything else. It wouldn't have taken too much time to get the info and script this correctly. Rubber shark that moves bottom of mouth and wiggles head from side to side. Not impressed.

I enjoyed the story line, but was hard to get over the inaccurate depiction of the Navy. A 2-star admiral with a shaggy haircut, saluting indoors, enlisted personnel with no rank insignia, Branch/Name Strips different colors, but the biggest one is repeatedly calling her Commander, where she is clearly wearing Lieutenant bars. I realize it's illegal to copy the uniform exactly, but as a Navy vet, they could have done their homework better in that regard. Still, I did enjoy the movie.
