Having heard absolutely nothing about this film or the individual whose life story is portrayed, viewing turned out to be an unexpectedly pleasant treat. Sure, it's overstated: the innocent family man falls into the hands of genius drug addicts who deliver him unto the Russian Mob. Along the way he encounters the temptress of all temptresses and nearly rounds aground through the appearance of affiliation with child pornography. Thanks to the federal government and its law enforcement agents, he is duly warned and emerges unscathed. Back to the wife and kids, PHEW!Somehow Luke Wilson sells it so that it is, for all its far-fetched qualities, believable, just as it is believable that a porn purveyor could blackmail a District Attorney so persuasively portrayed by Kelsey Grammar. That's just one of many delightful scenes in which we learn, time and time again, that crime does pay, really, really well, in fact, until.....let's just say that unwinding the transactions and transgressions turned out to be a good way to go.Strongly recommended for a good evening's entertainment.

This movie really took me by surprise, it was way better than I expected. Narrated by the main character, Jack Harris, who does all he can to stay above the fray but get's in deeper than he bargained for. The characters are solid, convincing, story is great, gives you a good idea on the inner workings of deals made and ideas created inside the Internet porn industry at it's conception. It shows how the guys who started the first Internet payment methods started out, how they expanded, got in hot water more than once and how the Russian mob and usual vultures muscled and connived their way in once they saw what it was worth. There is the side story overshadowing the whole mess when the FBI takes notice. It is also pretty entertaining in the way of comedy, drama, nudity, it's got it all, a great compelling story to boot. It's got some great lessons and revelations about the inside dealings of the players it focuses on, I watched it twice, watch it, you'll like it.

Luke really did surprise me in this movie. He is a brilliant actor but in the past he hasn't got the roles that he deserves. This movie was perfect for him to really show his skills as an actor. It's about a family man who's got a gift of getting himself/people out of trouble or rather out of difficult situations.Chronicles Jack Harris, one of the pioneers of internet commerce, as he wrestles with his morals and struggles not to drown in a sea of conmen, mobsters, drug addicts, and porn stars.Well it's highly entertaining and keep's it's pace throughout the movie,in the last 30 minutes things really heat up.So watch it & enjoy.Shab-Bakher (Good Night).

I was skeptical about this film. I know it says it got a theatrical release, but it must've been on only a couple screens. If you are thinking about watching this movie, do it. It's wonderful. I gave it 8 out of 10. There was a little too much Voice Over narration, but this was a great story, well acted and well directed. Luke Wilson's never been a great thespian, but here, he's very good. Giovanni Ribisi overacts, but here it works. Gabriel Macht, who I have never liked was great. And Laura Ramsey was gorgeous and great. I could have done without Jacinda Barrett, but hey, that might just be me.In a day and age where crap gets 3000 screens (I'm talking to you Season of the witch, drive angry, hall pass, the roommate), it's a shame this was not released wide and could not find an audience. To the filmmakers... very well done. To the distributer: you could have done better.
