atong-68144 MONTAUK CHRONICLES: WEIRD, SPOOKY, SCARY.The colors scheme, editing, and overall presentation reminded me more of a David Lynch movie or Italian and horror Sci-Fi, rather than the usual Ancient Aliens. More Disney's Fantasia than UFO Hunters so it was lovely to experience something different for a change. Story and narration were clear, the cinematography was consistently gorgeous and deep, and it was fast two hours. The music was pure synth indulgence and worth listening to outside of the movie. It was a fine example of independent filmmaking in every way. I personally enjoyed it, even though the stories really can't be proved. The government has messed with people for a very long time so that part is true. I think that part is open to interpretation.
victoresselli I love this movie, The visuals, The sound, the effects. Really weird and different, but awesome. We've witnessed a large amount of films that cover the "shadow base" subject matter as well as mind control topics. This subject was always popular, but for some reason it's in about everything lately...especially horror films.Montauk Chronicles is the epitome of that as it's covered by the filmmaker (Christopher P. Garetano) in ways that set it apart from anything else on similar topics. It's also allegedly true. So it begins with a mysterious masked character (JAMES) who tells the story of his hijacked youth and being wrangled by members of his grade school faculty to part of an evil mind control project beneath the Montauk Air Force Base. It's followed by a solid intro, with fabulous photography, and soon brings us to the three main storytellers. Now in their old age, the subjects all tell their individual tales with beautifully rendered flashback sequences in between. Some of the scenes were as creepy as any euro horror movie from the 1970's I don't want to give too much away but it continues through the entire tale and ends once again with the mysterious masked man.I didn't get the vibe that it was staged, so judge for yourself. Either way I enjoyed the hell out of it.It also truly opened my mind to what happened there. The subjects seemed truthful enough. Don't miss this movie. Shut the lights, open your mind....-Vick
carol-20749 this film did not attempt to supply any meaningful info about what may or may not have happened at Montauk and was truly the worst film I have ever seen! it was simply an excuse for a demented (if talented) guy to portray his weird mindset and the 3 main 'knowledgeable sources' were to my mind certifiably insane and did not offer one shred of useful information, nor indeed one shred of evidence.it started well enough, but then went nowhere logical at all - I only put myself through the agony of watching to the end see if Garentano offered any facts to suggest or deny any wrongdoing, but he offered no conclusions whatsoever.the only science fiction here was in the minds of those sad folk who featured in the film!
Ryan Prince -Montauk Chronicles (2015) movie review: -Montauk Chronicles is a documentary following a series of 'alien' events at the town of Montauk. Basically it is a UFO documentary.-It was 'aight. I don't care much for documentaries like this, but I was at least entertained.-The story was true, but definitely told in a biased way.-The pace was surprisingly good.-The people that were in it were interesting, but not that interesting. They were real, but also very biased. You can tell they had already formulated their opinion, so when the film opened with an opening stating it would tell an unbiased story, and then only interviewed the people that believe it, it kinda lied.-The music was not great and sounded really synthetic, but that also fit an alien film.-Basically if you can be entertained by documentaries where you don't buy into anything anybody ways, but are somewhat interested by it, Montauk Chronicles would be worth checking out on Netflix or anywhere else you can see it without paying for it.
