tain-5 The whole film is about what a nice guy he was and what a senseless death he died. You know it from the start as everyone is talking about him in past tense but you expect some heroic deed, and although they refer to him as a hero at the end, there is nothing heroic ever mentioned that he did. You wait but nope. It would seem that it is just another case of a victim being glorified to make people feel better about it and recruit more to take his place. Disappointing sentimental drivel. This requirement of having 10 lines is silly, some films just don't have that much dept to them and this is the case here. Only further thing to add at this point would be spoilers.
caseymac1944 People need to understand what these Heroes experience. We need more movies about them and other heroes such as Col. James Nicholas Rowe, LCDR Roy Boehm, and others who have paid the price for our freedom! Having Murphy's family and friends share what he was like in the real world and why he accomplished what he did was not only heartfelt, but touching and showing these military personnel are the real people they are! The in-depth research and interviews with Murphy's younger brother, along with those he went to high school and college with made it even easier to understand the honor and integrity of the man! The fact that he remembered those who sacrificed on 9/11 was another indication of his true patriotism which is lost today in many cases.
sholson78 Excellent documentary that should be shown to our sons and daughters while raising them. It teaches character, selflessness, and doing the right thing even when others aren't looking. Murph is a hero that we can all look up to. Those recent reviews that throw this movie under the bus didn't watch the movie. I know this because this film wasn't a war movie. So those who say it is are flat out wrong and trying to defame someone that is twice the man that they are. Murph actually made a difference in this world, unlike those on here that are internet message board activists (from their mothers' basements). Realize this, the man discussed in this film documentary ran towards the fight when others choose to run away from it. Again, to say this documentary is a war movie, is baseless and is proof that it wasn't viewed by the liar.
cecepoet "Murph: The Protector" is a documentary about a man, who volunteered, became a Navy Seal to serve and protect the nation so we can have the freedom's we take for granted. I believe this documentary is helping his family and friends heal from his death. He died a hero, he and the rest of his team remembered their humanity, which we all need to remember in times of war. Their sacrifice should be remembered and honored everyday.Wow, some of the reviews I've read here make me wonder if you even care what happens to our military personal and their families. Especially those who are killed in action. My roots run deep in the land we call America, my ancestry goes back before the Indian wars so my people know all about the atrocities of war. Yet we as a Native American community volunteer and join a branch of the service, I am the daughter of an Air Force Veteran, my Uncles are Veterans, Army, Navy and Air Force.
