Hong Kong pop singer Sammi Cheng plays May Ho, a woman who after getting into a car wreck received a six sense in her left eye.It is indeed a ghost movie, but like much Hong Kong movies with the supernatural theme, comedy is mixed in. In this case, it works a little in the movie as the plot was well-paced and acting was decent. There are also some sappy romantic scenes, which makes you sometimes think you're not watching a ghost movie. There's also quite a bit of gore in the film, which seemed out of place for such a sappy film.Overall, it's not too bad of a film. It's watchable, has some unpredictable moments, but it doesn't surpass some of the more conventional and intriguing ghost comedies of the 80s and 90s. Grade C

***SPOILERS*** Delightful, surprisingly sincere effort that combines every genre known to man. At once spooky (although only marginally, to be honest, much like THE FRIGHTENERS) and funny (with fx of THE MASK variety, mercifully few and far between), MY LEFT EYE SEES GHOSTS boasts- among many other things- superior craftsmanship. The theme music pretty much sets the tone: it sounds very, very, very much like the theme from THE ADDAMS FAMILY (the tongue-firmly-in-cheek TV series that spawned two feature films). One wonders if the filmmakers decided to take the basic premise of THE EYE (and the other eye, EYE 2) and turn it on its ear. Whatever the impetus, this movie strikes a powerfully resonant emotional chord, even "when we cross The Midnight Junction." Don't pass it by.

I have to say that this movie caught me by surprise. I thought it was going to be a horror movie, along the lines of The Eye and it was not. It is a fresh comedy with a romantic twist. It is character-driven, very real characters that you can relate to. Sammi Cheng who plays May and Chi-Sing Lam who plays Sam put in great performances, both very funny.
The movie begins in a graveyard with the burial of Daniel, his family and ex-girlfriend sobbing over his grave. That's when the ex-girlfriend who helped Daniel and his family build a very successful purse business learns of Daniel's quickie marriage of 7 days to May. She now gets his inheritance, and she turns out to be a smoking, drinking and lazy gold digger.One night while drinking and driving, she smashes Daniel's car and meets Ken, a ghost, who scares her soul back into her body to continue living. After an operation, she realizes that she can now see ghosts with her left eye and Ken will not leave her alone.I recommend this movie as light-hearted fun, and it will definitely suck you into it.

With many news about Sammi stating that her character she play this time in this movie would be very different from the previous ones she acted in, I went to watch this movie with quite a little high expectation and I was totally fascinated by the ending of this story as it was fabulous.Firstly, I think Sammi Cheng made a very good attempt at this movie, though her acting still contains very much of her usual style which many people including me who adore, she managed to make a breakthrough performance and establish herself as a professional actress who can portray different roles.
However, this movie is very different from the long string of horror movies showing in Hong Kong currently. The plot and the idea of the movie was fresh. This is actually a romantic comedy with a beautiful storyline and is actually far from being categorized as a horror movie.**Spoilers** Though the movie was far from reality and more of a fairy tale. It tells us about the power of love that exist even though a couple who just met for seven days. Even though, her husband might have died, he was always there for her and made sure she is going to be happy in the future before he fully "disappears". This is only revealed at the end of the movie which is just the right time the director could do so. On top of that, the title was so far away from what the movie really tells us and I think the director did so without wanting anyone to predict the entire plot of the movie which is even more brilliant.I recommend this movie for any couple out there and it's also a very funny and entertaining movie ..Go watch it... i rate it (8/10)
