Michael_Elliott Prince: The Glory Years (2007)*** 1/2 (out of 4)Ex-managers, ex-band mates, ex-sound engineers and various other "ex" people connected to Prince are on hand for this UK documentary that discusses the legends most popular period, which was in the 1984 when songs like 1999 and albums like Purple Rain took over the airwaves and made Prince able to do whatever he wanted. If you're a fan of Prince then you already know that he was pretty tight on what could and couldn't be done with his music so it's rather refreshing that we do get a documentary that uses his actual music. With that said, I found this documentary to be highly entertaining because it's a great reminder of the various albums and movies that he was making throughout the decade but it also gives you an insight to how Prince liked to work and how he was constantly mixing things up.The interviews are extremely good and it's nice getting to hear from people who actually worked with the legend and the albums. Another major selling point is that we get clips from countless videos and as I said, the use of the music is a major plus.
