mayinahjohnson Do you like a love story with a war story, if you do you would love the movie Red Tails. The ending of the movie was very good and it even made some of the people get emotional. The movie showed people how it was back then and what people of color as they called them used to go through. As the black man said in the movie "when you get mad you turn red, when you get envious or sick you turn green, when you become cowardly you become yellow and all got the nerve to call us colored". This movie is called red tails which was directed by George Lucas, Anthony Hemingway. The movie came out January 20 ,2012 and was also filmed in Croatia. One of the main characters to me was lighting. He was brave, outspoken confident and in love. The movie was about love, racism and war. The movie all together is about war blacks and whites working together. This movie was about a group of african americans working with the whites. The whites never wanted the blacks to work with them that why the didn't include them in any of the wars. The blacks wanted to be treated equally. They wanted to show the whites they can do the same as they can do if not better. The blacks helped the whites by protecting the bombers and if the bombers got hurt they would guide them and make sure they are safe going back. One thing that i think that was important and that stood out was lightening being brave and was always taking risks. He was always wanting to help his fellow team members and always wanted to make sure everybody was ok.He even died for his own captain. He was in love and he always wanted to impress her.He would go see her after the wars. I just feel bad the way he died because he had a plan to go and be happy with the women of his life. He was ready to say goodbye and his women was torn when she found out. I would recommend kids and adults watch this movie for many reasons. I recommend kids to watch this movie because they can learn about their ancestors or people back then who were judged about their race. They should know that whites never wanted blacks to work with each other. I would recommend adults to watch this movie because adults could also learn from this movie too. Some adults may have been experienced some of these things in there life.
kiarahall-18872 WRITE REVIEW BELOW: Was this movie worth it? In my opinion it was not because i feel like it didn't go into depth and only showed the exciting parts and the victory. I think there were more tough things that happend. Overall the movie could have been way better and you will see why i say this if you watch. The movie Red Tails came out in 2012 and made 50 million, written by John Ridley and directed by Anthony Hemingway. Some actors are Cuba Gooding jr., and Gerald McRaney, you would think the movie is awesome. Red tails had 9 award recommendations and won 2. It is rated 4.5 stars out of 10. This movie focuses on the tuskegee airmen, a group of all African American pilots during WWII. It shows segregation and problems they faced. As the movie begins it shows the relationships between a group of the fighters Marty " Easy" Julian, Joe "lightning" Little, Ray Gun and Smokey. The first part of the movie starts with showing how the Red Tails weren't getting any missions that involved actual fighting. As the movie continues it shows how they started getting opportunities to fight and protect some of the bombers. The best parts in this movie is the fighting scenes. The fighting parts and the sound effects seemed so real, that you will think it was real. Another good part is when Ray Gun got held as a prisoner of war at concentration camp, for me it showed a different side because I didn't know much about Prisoners of War. I would give this movie a 4.5 out of 10, it could have been way better and had so much more potential. In my opinion this movie is more entertaining than factual, i would recommend this movie to a group of 7-13 years old. There were some good parts like the fighting and that's about it. If i didn't know anything about the red tails i would have found it way more interesting. I don't think the movie showed much of the trails and hard times they faced, the film could have included much more on what they had faced being black pilots during WWII. You are suggesting
amirrajenkins Black men saving the world...sounds like a pretty good action movie! The Red Tails gives you multiple superheros. They risked their lives so they could make a difference and a BIG CHANGE in history. The all black male cast provided us with an exceptional and unbelievable experience. Despite the major differences between folks at that time and the lack of confidence others had in them the Tuskegee Red Tails never let it get to them, in fact, it motivated them to do better. The movie "Red Tails" was directed by Anthony Hemingway who is a black successful man. It was sponsored by over 50 companies that helped with the production. The movie had really good actors and the star actors are Cuba Gooding Jr., Gerald McRaney, and David Oyelowo. The leading actors are Nate Parker who plays 'Easy' , David Oyelowo who plays 'Lightning' , and Terrence Howard who plays colonel A.J. Bullard. The movie was released on January 20, 2012. It made over $50,000,00 in profits! The movie focuses on the Tuskegee Airmen, as known as the Red Tails, and their challenges they faced during World War II. The movie symbolizes the courageous, brave, and remarkable men and shines a light on the struggles of a African American person in the military in those times. Red Tails is about the Tuskegee Airmen and their journey within WWII. There are many internal and external issues within the characters. Each character in the story plays an important role of the movie. Terrence Howard, who plays colonel A.J. Bullard, plays the character that helps get the Red Tails into real action in the war. Nate Parker, who plays 'Easy', plays the part of the Leader of the Red Tail. He also has a problem that causes his to make a decision of his life. David Oyelowo, who plays 'Lightning', plays the part of a fearless and reckless flyer. Despite his love life he also has to overcome a decision that'll change his life. I absolutely love this movie. My favorite part of the movie was when the white air pilots invited the red tails into the bar for a drink and while they were talking Ne-Yo, who plays' Smokey', said "When you get upset, when you get mad, you turn red, right? When you get envious, or sick, you turn green. When you become cowardly, you turn yellow; and y'all got the nerve to call us colored?". I felt that! He was so right! I definitely recommend this movie! Especially to the African American community. I recommend this movie because it demonstrates the significance of the Tuskegee Airmen and their challenging journey. As an African American young lady I had no knowledge about the Red Tails in WWII. They played just as big of a role as the white pilots did! This movie showed and proved their greatness. They made history even through the segregation, hatred, and so much more they made sure they committed to the promise of making a change in history.
Steve Boose When I got my big-screen TV, the first thing I watched on it (to, you know, calibrate it) was Red Tails. The aerial combat scenes were amazing to watch...And yet, there was so much garbage as well! For one thing, the difference between .30-calibre (that is, 3/10ths of an inch) and 30mm (1.2 inches!) is utterly ignored - big bullets repeatedly do little damage, while little bullets do big damage! People die or don't die as the plot of the story demands, not according to logic. And everyone's a type - no one is a full-fledged, fleshed-out character, but instead they are all a type filling a spot on the roster. I'd still watch it again, if only to hear the head mechanic shout the line, "Did someone shoot a train at you?!" one more time. If you want the real story, The Tuskeegee Airmen is out there. If you want to take your brain out and put it in a box, try this one.
