jordansepticeye That's basically what this is,but this was filmed and written before Scary Movie,so it's not a rip-off.I figured since I reviewed a parody of 80s slasher films(Hatchet),I'll review a parody of 90s slasher movies.First the good, there is a decent story, and by that I mean it doesn't mean it goes off the rails with the ridiculous factor. There are some interesting characters, and one death was pretty funny and good. Now onto the humor,is it any good? Well,it's okay, the sight gags and metahumour are great, but some parodies were decent and some jokes were clever. Now,the cons, all of the jokes fell flat right on their face, they were either too lazy,or too outdated.Another flaw is that sometimes, the plot stops entirely just to make a stupid parody of something that was popular at the time.I didn't like the ending or the beginning, all of the jokes were way too obvious. My next problem,x,the killer, everything about him was lazy with the jokes, and who he turned out to be was stupid, they literally just introduced an entirely new character in the last five minutes for a cheap joke, come on.My last problem, the lack of kills throughout most of the film, yes people did die,but if they're parodying horror movies they should have more deaths, yeah I guess they're trying to develop the characters, but if they're making fun of the characters, then what's the point of developing them that much? All in all,Shriek If You Know What I Did Last Friday the 13th is exactly how I thought it would be,a lazy parody film that went straight to video for a reason, although it was funnier than I thought it would be.
Diane Ruth Hilarious spoof of horror movies that manages to tackle the funny bone with merciless gusto! From the inspired opening, you won't be able to control your gut wrenching laughter and the screen comes alive with comedy. Directed with incredible insight into the nature of comedic films and many nods to the classics of the past, there is hardly a modern horror movie that emerges from this outrageous satire whole. All the familiar tropes and imagery are ripped to shreds and their destruction will leave you drenched in tears of hysteria. Certainly the most original and creative horror comedy ever made, this is almost riotous in conception and superbly outrageous in realization. Don't miss it!
Raul Faust If I knew this movie would be that metalinguistic, I wouldn't even bother. I know that "Scream" and "Scary Movie" are a little bit of this, but not that much. "Shriek If You Know What I Did Last Friday the Thirteenth" has some few funny scenes through its 86 minutes, which are: the running in circles, the origin of Scream's mask and some other stuff. What annoys the most are the repeatedly scenes about "I know what you did last summer"; they show this scene around seven times in a row, tiring and bothering the spectator. Morealso, the film is poorly written and directed, you need to be either drunk or in a very good mood to enjoy this. See "Scary Movie" instead, or see this to compare the versions and decide which one you prefer (I sadly don't know anyone who preferred this one).
PurplePanther I watched this movie for the first time two days ago with friends, and there was a generally consensus that this movie SUCKED. This is honestly one of the worsts movies I have ever seen in my life. I know that it is THE worst PARODY movie I have ever seen. It basically has the same spoofs as Scary Movie, but it's not even half as funny. There is a different between gross out comedy and just plain gross. This movie was the latter. I did not laugh ONCE throughout the entire movie, and if I did, it was only at that the sheer stupidity of the joke. I assume they only put this out on DVD when Scary Movie beat them to the punch and came out first, but I think they shouldn't even have bothered releasing this movie at all. The fact that a better funnier movie was already in theaters with such similar characters and plots should have told them to save themselves the embarrassment of trying to compete, even on video. Don't waste your time. 0/10.
