jonaske-56696 First of all I have two notes: Note 1: I tried not to put spoilers in here, but better safe than sorry, so I want to warn you there may be spoilers in it. The spoilers don't contain elements from the story but rather from the (new) characters. Note 2: I'm a Belgian, this review can contain grammatical, translation or simple spelling mistakes. Being a Belgian means, I, and a few other generations, grew up with these three-apples-high creatures and still new generations watch the original animated series on TV. So I was pretty excited when they announced there would come another movie in theaters. This movie wouldn't follow the story line from the two previous movies, but it would tell a complete new one. When I saw the posters for the first time, I noticed even the Smurfs looked a bit different and I LOVED IT! They look more similar to the original Smurfs. Another good thing about the movie is that it's completely set in their own environment without any live-action elements. So with all these things I was more excited then I was before. At the end of the movie I had some mixed feelings. It was a beautiful story, the cat Azrael was really funny and Gargamel was as evil as always. But there was actually one thing that annoyed me... the voices. They didn't seem to fit with their characters. At least some of them. Papa Smurf, Gargamel, Smurfette, they were fine. It were especially Clumsy, Brainy and Smurf Willow who didn't convinced me. There is nothing wrong with the actors behind them, it's just that their voices doesn't fit with those Smurfs. A little detail I would have liked, was that the original song of the Smurfs would have been added here. Maybe they could have given it a new touch. Maybe next time...OK, after all I liked the movie, it was a lovely story, beautiful new Smurfs and Monty (originally Howlibird) and Snappy the ladybird were nice extras.

Smurfs: The Lost Village is basically the 3rd film in the Smurfs Universe and after 2 failed attempts to make a decent Smurf movie they decided to switch live action with actual animation and that was the right call. Cause this film was fantastic it packed so much heart, humor, adventure and emotion something that previous Smurfs movies didn't have and it's easily the best thing that happened to the Saga since the actual show. I'm also glad that Smurfette gets the leading role cause her character was always pretty interesting and they even improved it a bit the rest of the Smurfs also do a terrific job and for the first time we also get a first look to more Smurfs as well which i don't wanna spoil. This is a movie that both your kids and you as well will enjoy it's not retarded and full of dumb moments it's actually clever, friendly and has great messages about kids like Friendship and Parenthood plus the soundtrack is pretty awesome and i do hope that Sony finally makes a decent attempt on actually making a sequel to this and not to something else. (A+)
copic_marco Story(short): Realizing that she has no unique ability, like all the other smurfs, Smurfette wants to go on a forbidden trip, to warn who ever she accidentally drawn Gargamels attention on.Pro: It's a roller-coaster of simple slapstick for young audience. And Tenchnicaly well done.Contra: Its pretty clear what smurfiness means: They're peaceful, friendly, individuals named by their capability or attitude. (By the way, they have no Gender, for the Baby-Stork takes care of the offspring's.) So what can a bunch of female moviemakes come up with? How about a second unknown village full of smurfs! Only those smurfs are all aggressive, bow and spear carrying, female, annoying, unsympathetic, wicked and petty. At this point, I was in the mode to rate this movie with a minus 10. Sorry, topic failed, repeat class! You also might think the grey hairy, red hat, opposite to papa smurf, had to be mama smurf. Far off. Its smurfwillow. Once you reached that point, you won't even bother, that the movie score contains unfitting modern pop music. Which appears to be the only good thing about life, as a female smurf. Disco. I can not say this is a bad movie! I can only speak for my self and say: "I will try to forget, that i saw it!"
ElliesWonder 07242017 Fantastic forbidden forest setting, full of colorful and fascinating creatures, bonus bonus! This is another 3D smurfs adventure story. It is better than what I expected because I once watched a real word smurfs movie with human around. It wasn't too bad but not good either. But thanks god, this is a pure 3D cartoon movie. It is a kid story, but I still like it, I like to watch silly rather than weepy. Having a great time watched it with my mom. Usually if smurfette dies in the movie, it will make the movie to another level. However still a good family movie choice. Lastly question appears, so why male smurfs and female smurfs separate from each other?
