The story of Bethany Hamilton is quite inspiring. She was born to surfers in Hawaii and surfing is in her blood. When we watch the movie, we see how surfing is a big part of her life. Her parents are played by Dennis Quaid and Helen Hunt. They are terrific in their roles as her parents. Craig T. Nelson has a small role as the doctor. Kevin Sorbo has a supporting role. The actress who played Bethany Hamilton did a terrific job in the role. The scenery is just magnificent and beautiful of course in Hawaii. I was surprised to learn that Bethany has been home-schooled on the islands. Her family belongs to the Fellowship Church on the island. Carrie Underwood played Sarah Hill, a minister. Bethany and her best friend Alana miss a missionary trip to Mexico. Sadly, Bethany's arm was bit off by a shark bite. She survived luckily but she had to rebuild and learn to live her life on her own terms. The film is inspiring to anybody who has overcome such hardship. The final moments of the film has actual footage of the real Bethany and her family.

Bethany is your average boring, snotty, melodramatic teenage girl, but one exception is her intense love of surfing. She lives in Hawaii right next to the beach, is home-schooled and has plenty of time to surf with her parents and siblings, as well as competing with her friend in a surfing contest. With everything going her way, it seems like nothing could go wrong... but the same day her father goes for surgery Bethany has her arm eaten by a shark and realizes that life won't ever be the same. Somehow she proves though, that even when you seem beyond help, with support and optimism you can do anything.I have to say, at times Bethany seemed like quite a snob; it wasn't until her terrible experience that she changed from her lousy personality. The soundtrack was half-decent, the acting was pretty good and the plot was based on a true story. The real Bethany Hamilton is a famous surfer, who really does only have one arm.One complaint I have is the large amount of religion shoved into the film. Don't get me wrong, I'm not against religion, but I'm not religious and all the "have faith in god" stuff was rather annoying. In moderation it would add to the plot and the character of Bethany, but too much of it got on my nerves.

The fact that this movie has so many good votes, when it is really bad, means that there is a huge amount of religious freaks out there trying to convert the world into their fairy.For some reason every fool who believes in myths must try to convince others that their myth (only that one, and no other myth) is the right one, and that everybody must worship their deity.This story is the opposite of reality: when in real life religion is a problem that must be overcame in order to fight and success without expecting a magical intervention, they show the drama as if going to a temple will automatically resolve your problems.Religious propaganda, that's all.Don't waste your time seeing this pamphlet about how we should adore a magical fairy in the sky.

"Soul Surfer" is a movie based on the true story of a teenage surfer Bethany Hamilton who lost her left arm in a shark attack. In this movie we observe the difficulties of a person who loves a water sport and she wants to be a professional on it and we watch this before this accident and after that.I liked this movie because it's a true story and because it can carry you all the emotions that this girl feels. In this, I have to tell you that AnnaSophia Robb's interpretation made this because her interpretation it was really great. I also believe that the interpretations of Dennis Quaid who plays as her father and Helen Hunt who plays as her mother were equally great.I have to tell you that "Soul Surfer" is a movie that I recommend and I believe that everyone have to see it.
