tomr-28618 It's not atrocious like The Amazing Spiderman 2, but it's such a wierd film when you think about it for more than 2 minutes. It's crazy how this film was directed by Sam Raimi, it feels nothing like his other films like the first two did. Maybe that's because he wanted to give it a more generic blockbuster feel but it's missing the excellent camera work being used as often and the great action scenes. The film is so concerned with 3 villains that it draws your focus in so many directions it's hard to care about anything or anyone in the film. There are films that can contain subplots that all interweave nicely but this film was just poorly written. Sandman was the best villain here as Harry Osborne isn't really a villain for all that long and Venom is just forced in towards the end. Sandman actually had a good reason to do what he was doing and had a more human and sympathetic element to his character similar to Doctor Octopus.Speaking of sandman, the scene where Flint Marko becomes sandman is probably the best scene in the whole film. It's so well scored and just a great emotional scene. However we go from those heights to the lows of Peter Parker acting like a poser and the infamous dancing that occurs in the last half of the film. It also has a very artificial feel to it and the scenes aren't shot impressively like the first two. There is just an over reliance of CGI and the film just looks so fake. Overall this film is bizzare as it has some good elements, some okay ones and some really bad elements. It's my third favourite Spiderman film.
taitavrit I liked the first two movies. I was really happy when Tom Holland took Spiderman to marvel. I kind of liked spiderman before. But after seeing Tom Holland in Spideman homecoming, he became my favorite superhero. I saw this movie before I saw homecoming. This movie ruined Spiderman for me untill homecoming came out. This movie is boring, stupid, makes no sense, and i the worst movie I have ever seen.
markcasa-63624 I don't know when I was a kid i saw a trailer for this and Venom scared the crap out of me. When I saw the movie a few years later with the other two spider man movies and I didn't even know what I was scared of. Because that Venom sucked.ASSSSSSSS!But we only get him in basically the last 30 minutes because before we get to the real venom we get Imo Peter and he sucks. And don't even get me started with that dance party scene which is just awfully cringe. Multiple love subplots with MJ, Peter, Gwen, and Harry that almost go no where. And there are just so many to pick from.Besides Sandman and some good performances and the cgi for the most part are what I really like from this movie. Just let Sony make there own Venom.
Pjtaylor-96-138044 'Spider-Man 3 (2007)' is certainly a step down and 'Emo-Peter', or more specifically his arrogant dancing, is as cringe-worthy as his reputation would suggest (though when viewed on their own these scenes are funny to say the least, it's just that as a part of the overarching narrative they are entirely out of place), but despite its problems this is still a relatively enjoyable picture that has some entertaining sequences and even some nice character moments (some of the stuff with 'The Sandman' and his daughter is quite well done) sprinkled throughout the over-cluttered and generally messy narrative. The action feels a little less impactful than before, mainly thanks to the blatant surrealism of the antagonists who are actually less believable in concept and execution than our spider-enhanced hero and the villains of the prior films, and most of it is too big and too silly to ever feel like our heroes are ever really in danger. It can be fun at times, though, and does have some lasting consequences, leading to an ending that's surprisingly sombre. 6/10
