pollardm-45339 I usually strongly consider the overall IMDB rating when deciding which film to sit down and watch. Almost always the higher the better - i.e. a 7/10 plus; means a decent film. Which is why am very confused this film sits on a 7.7/10 overall on IMDB. I didnt see this first time around and am watching it for the first time in 2018.. I generally believe they are making scifi films better in recent years than they have in the past.. Not always - but usually! The visuals and effects here are very nice... But the plot is thin. Nothing much here is gripping. A lot of the more recent edgy sci-fi's just bury this thing.. Maybe it was good for 1997; but I dont think it stands up too well.. 5/10 at best for me and thats being generous.. Disappointing....

watermelonsparkless The fifth element It is not what you think it is. This movie is not about boron the fifth element in fact it is pretty boron if you ask me. But seriously why does every movie have such a misleading title. This movie has nothing to do with boron. Just because they are both science related does not mean that it can just use boron as the title. It is like calling an excavation movie the drain, they are both kind of related but are clearly not the same thing. One thing to take from this movie is a better meaning of life from the main character who has gone from earning a mere 4535485.26 Jamaican Dollar as a taxi driver to 0 Jamaican Dollar but a hero. The confusing part of this movie is why are 4 rocks so important to the world I mean there are only a countless number of other rocks to choose from. Overall another misleading title with no direction or sense in the movie

peterdickerson I just saw Le cinquième élément on the big screen for a 20th Anniversary screening. It was spectacular as always, but amazing on the giant screen. This film has a tight story, great action sequences, believable villains, likable heroes, and it is so funny while everyone is in great peril at the same time. Bruce Willis and Mila Jovovich are fantastic together. As my title says, the film is worth seeing for the costumes alone.
