trashgang Based on a true event this flick sadly doesn't deliver. The acting is okay and above mediocre but for a ghostly story it never becomes frightening. I mean, for horror geeks it isn't frightening. For beginners in the genre they will jump here and there but for me there are a few problems. The effects used are sometimes rather simple and are mostly done with colour grading turning colours to sepia and to black and white. It makes it flashy but it doesn't add a thing towards the atmosphere. On the other hand, seeing ghost disappear purely done with fading in editing gives it a cheap look. There are a few good moments on that I must agree but overall it is a mediocre flick clearly not made for the geeks. Ideal to watch with your teens. One scene did remind me of the excellent Masters of Horror episode Imprint, but be honest, Imprint was much better.Gore 0/5 Nudity 0/5 Effects 2/5 Story 2/5 Comedy 0/5
schizophobicrevolver555 This is a True Story..A true story of a Young Couple with a little girl, who's Aunt lived on the Property in her Trailer Van.. Lisa had the sparks of her mothers gift, and also Heidi their little Girl showed signs of the gift too. Her Aunt Joyce was gifted too .. We have three females in the family who moved into their home ..only to find that it had a history.. firstly history with a good side, but unfortunately also a darker side. God think if this TRUE story all your family lived this .. No it wasn't a special effects and fake blood.. slashing and moments of hiding behind a cushion cos u know some monster with a "mask" like Friday 13th..,, The film was beautifully created with a sense and feel of knowing all .. of this actually Happened.. that 3 females ..all with a gift.. piece by piece, unearthed a part of history which helped so many slaves find the freedom and liberty of a new start in life.. that itself is a story, Just as the story where a Man who Once Was Captain of a Ship that brought people across the ocean to become slaves and treated as animals..He had a kind of vision, and so quick he felt and realised what a monster he was ..these were human beings from a far away land from America..filled with a sense of heavy guilt he turned his life around and from that moment on he did all he could to at least try give something good back, and lived the rest of his days helping the slaves to set them free. He wrote a Poem and it started with the words Amazing Grace... Thats where the Christian hymn adapted that poem to become one of the most famous hymns of all time.. So that piece of history this filmed showed ..maybe someone will find inspiration to want to direct a movie all about these underground trains.. Just as the Poem Amazing Grace was made into a movie.. It was a horror, but a mystery and inspired by true events.. So it didn't need anything spectacular or over dramatic.. It was believable, and emotional, spiritual and historic feel too..The Director for me truly achieved to have found the true essence of this true event and created a pretty damn good ..awesome Movie. Maybe people should create genres of all Horror Films zombie, slasher, paranormal, fantasy, mystery, supernatural etc..So maybe a lot of people are going to be expecting a good scary horror with knives monsters blood and scares.. this isn't that type of horror movie.. I really enjoyed it ..it was well acted with a very young actress that played an excellent Heidi, and the storyline had a good sense of you realising it was running a longer course with every new discovery.. I gave it an 8/10
Claudio Carvalho In 1993, the Wyrick family moves to an affordable real estate in the countryside of Pine Mountain, Georgia. Lisa (Abigail Spencer) is a medium that uses pills to avoid seeing dead people; her husband Andy (Chad Michael Murray) is a ranger and their little daughter Heidi (Emily Alyn Lind) has inherited the gift of her mother. Soon Lisa's sister, Joyce (Katee Sackhoff), who is a free-spirited and reckless woman, asks to stay in a trailer in property and Lisa and Chad agree. .When Heidi befriends and old man named Mr. Gordy (Grant James), her parents believe that he is an imaginary friend but Joyce discovers that he was the owner of the land until his death in the 70's. Further, they discover that the land belonged to a stationmaster that protected slaves in the Nineteenth Century. Heidi insists that Mr. Gordy has told her that they are in danger and the family discovers that an evil spirit is trapped in the land. Will they survive?"The Haunting in Connecticut 2: Ghosts of Georgia" is a frightening ghost story with good story and performances. This movie is not a sequel of the scary "The Haunting in Connecticut" and I have startled many times while watching to this movie. My vote is seven.Title (Brazil): "Evocando Espíritos 2" ("Evoking Spirits 2")
makkalulu I thought this movie was one of the best 'horror' movies I have seen. It has to be made clear at this point that this is not a 'slasher' movie, in fact there is no slashing in it at all. Hence there wasn't much 'gore' and blood spilling, but that is not to say there wasn't any horrifying imagery, actually it was quite memorable and imaginative in that regard. There wasn't much new in terms of scares but there were plenty and the makers put great effort in keeping you on edge throughout by keeping you guessing what would come next. The acting was entirely acceptable and although I was worried at first that certain characters would get annoying they turned it around by the end. The two things the movie managed to achieve extremely well were atmosphere and historical context. At the end of the day even the best horror movies rarely compare well to great movie from other genres and generally only work if you 'let yourself believe' as such this movie achieved everything it could want to achieve. It's fits well onto a list with similarly well executed films such as The Awakening, Silent Hill 1, The Orphan and Sinister and was much better than a lot of the uninspired rest. Btw, yes, the naming was silly and almost made me not watch this but that doesn't take away anything from the actual movie itself. Also it didn't feel like a 'based on a true story for the sake of it' kind of movie and I was surprised, but din't really care to find out at the end.
