rambofanlife-41678 This is one of the worst horrible remakes I have ever experience. This movie is absolutely horrible painful to watch. This movie is garbage and junk. Un watchable. This movie is so boring, slow paced. The first 10 minutes nothing happens. I don't care about characters. Both of the lead characters are annoying. This film rips off and steal the formula from the first film and the second one. Sophia Bush is awful she is awful, annoying I dislike her so much. Sean Bean is not John Ryder he can't hold a candle to Rutger Hauer. This movie sucks. Who is this unknown actor Zachary Knighton? I don't know the actor, there is no acting in this movie. No action, no heart, no soul nothing this movie is blank. It is a painful to watch. It is not a good movie. I love The Hitcher (1986) to death it is my favorite film off all time. It is a cult classic one of the best horror films ever. I like The Hitcher II: I've Been Waiting (2003) it is a good sequel I enjoy it. Kari Wuhrer was a great bad-ass lead to a scared girl from a victim to a heroine. So yes I disagree with critics about the sequel.Sophia Bush and Zachary Knighton are horrible lead, they can't act. In the original film there was trough half of the film one boy, he was alone against a maniac who try's to kill him and the hero try's to survive, while in this movie they are two against one. Against one hitcher two people come one. They go and kill off again the main leads from the first film the same that the sequel did. You don't have a suspense, you don't have intensity in here. Dave Meyers failed to direct the film he doesn't know how the direct a film. I don't hate all the remakes but this one was pointless, soulless remake and did not been made. The remakes I like: Fright Night (2011), Friday the 13th (2009), The Hills Have Eyes (2006), My Bloody Valentine 3D (2009), The Punisher (2004), Punisher: War Zone (2008), The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2003), Assault on Precinct 13 (2005), House of Wax (2005) and Dawn of the Dead (2004) I like those movies they are miles way better!Remakes I hate: A Nightmare On Elm Street, Halloween, Terminator: Genysys, RoboCop and The Hitcher those are awful horrible movies. I can't stand them. Alexandre Aja was a better director he know what to do and I love The Hills Have Eyes Remake, I love Friday the 13th reboot to death I love those two films. Marcus Nispel directed better remake than Dave Meyers ever did. Joy Ride (2001), Road Games (1981), Duel (1971), Jeepers Creepers (2001) and When Strangers Appears (2001) are much better road movies in my opinion than this remake.1/10 F I hate this movie and I dislike it very much. I will never watch this movie ever again in my inter life I don't want to have this movie in my movie collection. I am staying away.
cmovies-99674 PROS: The part of the film that had potential was the acting. The genuine fear that the two main actors showed was impeccable. As the movie progressed so did the acting. Through all the scenes you saw a different snapshot of how dynamic the acting was, from insanity to humor the whole movie was very capable. Another very good part of THE HITCHER was the action scenes. The whole movie was able to keep some sort of tension which was helpful. It also had a really nice idea that started well and ended well. To add on, then ending was very well crafted. It gave you exactly what you wanted, some sort of sigh of relief.CONS: The biggest con falls on the plot. The movie jumps around to many locations with little to no correlation. This makes it difficult to establish motive from the characters. One of the most important things in movies is cause and effect, and in THE HITCHER those two pieces rarely connected. To clarify, there were many good ideas, but they weren't put together in a logical way. The movie was all over the place. Another issue that I had was the way the movie was sold. It was said to be a big new "thriller," but the movie was by far a thriller. The film was just pure horror.www.chorror.com
GL84 Attempting to go to spring break together, a couple's trip ends in terror when they accidentally pick up a deranged hitchhiker and are soon caught up in his deadly game while trying to avoid the authorities convinced they are behind the spate of violence. While this one doesn't really hold up to the original, this is still a pretty enjoyable and fun effort. The biggest factor here for this one is the fact that there's a lot more action and general chasing going on throughout here. this one here manages to get a lot more into here than initially expected with the tormenting done here from the start with the initial car-ride that causes them to force him out of the car, a thrilling chase down the highway that pits their crumbling car against his monster truck in a thrilling means of escape before the diversion away and finally the rest-stop diner encounter that's pretty enjoyable as well. That gives the final half of the film near non-stop action here with the capture at the diner, the police station massacre that sets off the final charge and the great car-chase with the police in hot pursuit and the rather enjoyable conclusion there that makes for quite a fun time here. As well, the replication of the signature scene from the original of the friend tied in between the two trucks at the rest-stop and trying to keep him from ripping the body in half is a fine continuation of the events as the lead-in here makes for a thrilling time with the search throughout the compound and pulling the previous events together as they've lead to this if only slightly too reminiscent of that scene from the original without a whole lot of the power and brutality of that one, which is the main thing that's holding this one down. That this one seems to come off more as a straight remake of events here is the biggest stumbling block, as rather than play things out in a new or creative manner, there's a whole series of scenes here taken from the original but given more of an action-based bent that causes this to come off as repetitive without being original or daring. About the only thing it really changes up here is the fates of several of the characters, but even that's not really enough here to do anything new or creative with what's happening here as this one just tends to continue on all throughout in that manner. As well, this one really tends to wallow in contrivance rather than any kind of actual investigative work throughout to follow through its actions, as there's little need to evade the police here but rather stay with them while he's out there on his rampage and the framing is completely invalidated by being with them while the actions occurred, and it really feels more like circumstance that causes them to go on the run here rather than being wrongly framed for the whole ordeal. Beyond this, there's not a whole lot else really wrong with this one.Rated R: Graphic Violence, Graphic Language and strong implied violence against children.
MattyGibbs I saw the original years back and again pretty recently and judging by the reviews on here I wasn't expecting much. However this is a far better film than I thought it would be. The cinematography is excellent and the two leads are convincing and likable. There were plenty of jump out the seat moments and Sean Bean an actor who doesn't always convince puts in one of his best performances. If I hadn't seen the original ( which is not much better in my opinion)then this would have been an even better watch. Re-makes are often scorned ( rightfully in many cases) but I think this is a very good example of one that gets it right, bringing an old perceived classic to the attention of a new generation. Well worth a watch if you don't expect too much especially if you haven't seen the original.
