ireneanderson-91060 I went into this film expecting nothing special but it was far better than anticipated with a good twist at the end. For me the lead actress did a good job in portraying the story along with a great performance from veteran actor David Strathairn who is good in all he does. Some good surprises along the way enhanced this cool mystery horror which most certainly keeps your attention throughout.
johntncd89 The only good thing I can say about this movie is Elizabeth Banks, but that still doesn't help this film out at all. She should just stick with comedy and what she is good at because after seeing this, horror is definitely not her strong suit. And the two girls that played the sisters were just horrible actors. I watched this with my girlfriend and every scene I could call out what was going to happen next and 99% of the time I was right. Other than them, the plot points had nothing to do with each other and this movie made no sense at all.. Horrible movie. The 40 year old virgin was more scary than this. Do not watch unless you want to be disappointed.....
Aanna Wilton K Okay, finally a movie that made me scare :D The scenes are perfectly directed, the lights, the camera views, the effects, the acting, the storyline. These all are made this movie a really great piece! I was happy to see it, and it kinda made my scare away, couse i was more glad to have a good horror than actually being scared XD I loved the scenes where i felt like it is my room, and it can happen to me as well. It made me feel better the fact that she is not a dumb, and the whole movie is not based on a stupid love story. I appreciated that the movie is not on anyone's side, it lets the viewer to decide who to believe. The events are reasonable, not just a bunch of events cut together in a chaotic line. No useless scenes, i never wanted to go out to the bathroom just to make something happen XD
Leofwine_draca THE UNINVITED is ANOTHER redundant remake of an Asian horror, the original in question this time being the Korean A TALE OF TWO SISTERS. If it wasn't for the original movie, this wouldn't be bad at all, coming across as a mildly spooky horror/mystery combo with a decent twist at the end.Sadly, having seen the original first (thank goodness) I can report that this is the inferior film in every respect. It feels like it's been dumbed down for US audiences, the narrative simplified and the mystery reduced to its most basic levels, a simple whodunit-style murder yarn with a couple of ghostly scenes thrown in for good measure. The problem with THE UNINVITED is that it fails to be scary - the couple of ghost scares we're treated to having been too obviously copied on the likes of THE GRUDGE - and the acting isn't much to write home about. I didn't mind Emily Browning's protagonist so much, while David Strathairn is great given the right role (as in THE BOURNE ULTIMATUM) but wasted here while Elizabeth Banks is completely over the top and detracts from it. The twist ending would have been great if we hadn't seen it all before, leaving THE UNINVITED far from the worst of the remakes out there, but hardly a great movie in itself.
