After #metoo and all this masterpiece definitely needs to be upgraded. Aside from the absolutely compelling performances by Susan Sarandon and Geena Davis, the prescient condemnation of male abuse of women is amazingly timely. When I first saw this film, when it came out in 1991, I thought the Geena Davis character was a jerk, always getting Louise in trouble. But, no, she was just the horribly repressed and abused woman of that era finally getting a chance to be herself. Btw, Brad Pitt is amazing in an early role.

Thelma & Louise contains one of the most masterful cinematic endings known in the history of film. As far as dynamic duos, the chemistry between Geena and Susan is palpable on-screen. They're iconic women, beyond reproach, and this movie is a beautiful act of revenge for every woman (or person who grew up subject to misogyny). Time and time again, we see these women stand up for themselves and take matters into their own hands. I wholly recommend seeing this timeless classic - see it as soon as possible, if you know what's good for you!

Simply the best movie made in the 90s! Love the acting and especially the chemistry between Geena Davis and Susan Surandon! I feel ashamed that I haven't seen this movie before! Man or woman you will enjoy this film! It is not a stupid revenge fantasy as some critise but a rather unique movie about friendship and the untold struggles of women in society! 10/10 Love it!

I don't quite know what it is about this film. This film is really, really good. it is a plethora of emotion, from jovial to gloomy, it has it all. I began to watch this film with the worst intentions. however was utterly surprised.I loved the character development of Thelma and Louise. and even the side characters of Madsen, Keitel and Pitt were all fantastic too. they all felt human and showed true raw human emotion. This film oddly reminds me of "One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest" because of its great ability to make you feel happy and sad, there are very few films that can do this for me, and when it does it makes the happy bits better and the sad times sadder. This film may not look it, but it is great.
