Páiric O'Corráin Unfriended: Dark Web: Matias (Colin Woodell) is a bit of a nerd but he really loves his deaf girlfriend, Amaya (Stephanie Nogueras), he's working on an app to translate his spoken words into text but she would prefer if he learned sign language, things aren't going great. but it's games night and he joins his friends online to have some fun. He has a new laptop and and as the games progress he finds hidden files and a Norah C IV starts to contact him claiming the laptop is hers, yes: he found it. But the files turn out to be vids of women who have been kidnapped and the abductors could have murdered them. The gamers are drawn into a game of cat and mouse with the denizens of the Dark Web as Amaya comes under threat.Tension builds throughout the film as the action unfolds on Skype, messages, pop-up screens and side windows. Unwise decisions are made as the online and real world battle ensues. Adequate acting all round apart from a few OTT moments by gamer AJ (Conor Del Rio) result in a convincing enough film with some shocks and frights. A worthy directorial debut by Stephen Susco who also provides the screenplay. 7.5/10.
vengeance20 Seen this tonight at a late showing & was blown away by how intense this film was!Seen the first Unfriended back in May 2015 & was impressed by it! Then a sequel was announced, but not mentioned too much, or seemed to have little to nothing happening in terms of its progress. But like Gallows 2, (with it not only being a Blumhouse Film also sequel to a 2015 original called The Gallows) it was filmed in secret & to be released to UK cinemas on the 10th August 2018! I at first took this with a pinch of salt & never thought it would get the cinematic release it did! I thought due to how low key it was, that it would get a DVD release...! How wrong I was...!The film is about a young man who steals a laptop which is connected to the Deep Web, the killer in the deep web is part of a abduction racket which lures people in to play sadistic games with them, manipulating the victims & then deviously making them out to be the perpetrators using devious, yet manipulative tactics by abusing the tools of the internet & computer alone!Well I went to see it & must say I was gripped from start to finish! The film was epic as hell in so many levels! The story-line this time around is more complex & I must admit, a little bit confusing, but hey it's s set up from Unfriended as it has more to think about & keeps you locked in!I won't spoil to much but the deaths in this film were pretty creative & unique! I loved the dark twisted nature of the film as well, how devious the killer was in manipulating the characters! The way the killer was so creative & calculating was just amazing! This sequel gives you more to think about! But I did feel the story was some what confusing & a tad bit hard to understand! But overall, this sequel was insane & epic as hell! Go watch it! 10/10
joshuamiter Unfriended: Dark Web is such a unique thriller made for people to fear the internet, and it does it's job perfectly. In the duration of the movie you will find different rivers leading to different lakes and banks that are full of surprises and parts where it is just predictable. Not following along the story of the original Unfriended but this one in my opinion is in fact much better. This film has more mystery and suspense moments which makes this film one of Blumhouse's most evil movies ever made. Overall a great thriller with a great story line but with a lot of predictable and sketchy moments.
smackmydouble-75-847233 If I wanted to stare at Facebook and Skype all night I could have did that at home instead of wasting money on this movie. This should have been considered a comedy movie instead of a horror movie because none of the movie is scary and I laughed for most of the movie because how dumb it was.
