I loved this film very much, it really reminded me that the ones we don't end up with are not the ones that got away, but rather the ones that we are better off without. Whether you belive in fate or not this film has something to say about those of us that never seem to get chosen first by those we pursue. I am not one to ever dismiss rom coms since I feel like they always have something to teach us not only about relationships, romantic or otherwise, but also about ourselves.

It was an entertaining movie. The concept wasn't original but the way the story panned out was very interesting to see. There were funny, touching, and heartbreaking moments. You can see the ending coming but it was still fun. It made things realistic. I was annoyed at the lead guy - I really did not like him but it didn't stop me from liking the movie. Also, Alexandra Daddario <3 <3 <3

Perhaps it's because Alexandra Daddario is just too gorgeous, that it made it a little, not too much however, just a tad bit difficult to connect with Shelley Hennig being who she is in the film. Don't get me wrong, her performance was great, has her own sex appeal going for her and her part throughout the movie was entertaining and pleasurable, it's just that we spend a good part of the film somewhat falling for Avery, that we don't quite have enough time to fall for Carrie just as much, though we do still end up really liking her.The story was also a little foolish at points, for instance; Noah didn't need advice from Max on how to get Avery, because that was never the problem. However, all of that aside, When We First Met is a fun watch, that could've been better, but still good enough.I believe this film was a really good step for all the stars involved. It's a cheerful movie, with an interesting twist, and more importantly, none of the characters were annoying, which seems to be the trend in current RomComs in the interest and pursuit of trying to be different.I like how the beginning of this movie throws you off, then adds an unexpected element into the mix (that of course could've been done better, and really was this movies' most vulnerable aspect), then finishes you off with a sweet twist, with a satisfying end. 6.4/10.

So if you go into this movie expecting Oscar worthy screenplays and acting you are going to be disappointed but if you want a cute romantic comedy that will make you laugh this is a good choice. I do feel like the ending was a bit rushed though they tried to make up for it with a photo collage. The movie was a bit short on the running time and I think it definitely could have been improved with a fuller ending but I won't get into it to avoid spoiling anything.
