My all time favorite movie! This coming of age movie is about 3 friends that venture into the deep woods of Oregon out of respect of their deceased friend and their dreams of finding D.B. Cooper's Treasure. After many years apart from each other, they find that no challenge is too big as the power of friendship prevails. Dax Sheppard, Tom, is probably my favorite of the movie as his sarcastic comedy is right up my alley. I have seen this movie maybe 20+ times and never gets boring because it reminds me that even though the pressures of life seems overbearing at times, spending time with the ones closest to you is the greatest way of bringing you back down to earth. Bet you 100 grand and a left nut you will not be disappointed!! :DD

"Without a Paddle" (2004) is a comedy/adventure about three old friends who fulfill a childhood pact by venturing into the Northwest wilderness to solve the mystery of D.B. Cooper, an unidentified man who hijacked an airplane in 1971 and parachuted out with a large sum of money. Will they solve the mystery? Will they even get back alive? I remember seeing the trailer at the time and was really excited about seeing this film because I love lost-in-the-woods type adventures, but I was somewhat disappointed. I've seen it twice since then and liked it better than my first viewing, but it's still far from great. It's basically just a fun adventure flick with various lost-in-the-woods shenanigans.It starts off pretty good and gets lame in the mid-section, but the final act is decent. I appreciated the camaraderie of the three friends (Seth Green, Matthew Lillard and Dax Shepard), the hip soundtrack, the excellent guest appearance of Burt Reynolds and the awesome New Zealand locations. The two hippie chicks in the woods aren't anything to get too excited about, but that's a matter of taste. It's worth checking out if you like adventure-in-the-woods flicks.The film runs 95 minutes.GRADE: C+ (almost B-)

Dax Shepherd is clearly the cream of the crap in this overlong rafting misadventure. The story is weak, and you've seen it all before. Plenty of sophomoric jokes, along with a story stretched to the maximum. Burt Reynolds appears embarrassed with such trite material, and the two backwoods idiots have way too much redundant screen time. Throwing in a message about responsibility, comes across as totally out of place considering how silly everything gets. The D.B. Cooper connection is tenuous at best. If watching stupidity on parade is your idea of entertainment, then "Without a Paddle" should be on your list of must see movies. Others beware. - MERK

(A little bit of a spoiler...) Without a Paddle makes a great comedy film!The three friends (Seth Green, Dax Shepard, and Mathew Lillard) are great picks. They start off as childhood friends and are brought together by the death of the fourth friend, Billy in an accident. That is when they stumble upon Billy's secret plans to look for the hidden money of D.B. Coooper (Dan Cooper) My favorite part of the movie is when they are nearly naked in the cave and the song bump n grind starts to play. When they start talking about the hippie chicks and Seth Green pitches a tent I laughed so hard! Some people may not like this movie, but dude, I think it is one of the best adventure movies ever! It goes along with City Slickers, and a lot of other comedic adventures with friends. I definitely think it was worth watching. Hilarious!
