Irishchatter Some people have compared this anime to Shakespeare but I highly doubt it is. Its really all about the knighthood although its not about serving the queen or king, its more based on the gang defending for themselves. The romance wasn't bad either, I thought that Ikki and Princess Stella were a great match really. I even liked how Ikki was indestructible in the last battle and yes seeing him get injured with a lotta blood is really not nice to see. However, it does prove that he is a bad ass fighter regardless if he is considered weak because boy god, he is not the type to be a weakling lol!The comedy, romance and storyline was good, not my favourite but its in one the good lists for me! I give this a 8/10!
Alex Nguyen This anime is incredibly good, the main characters has a strong development and their the main characters you don't want to miss. This anime blows my mind and has reach deep inside of my heart, as a long time ago Ikki Kurogane is the main character has shown me a true gentlemen and man he is and you treat a women right, and feeling strong empathy of the main character. The action is very exciting and the sound effects is well done. In a long time I have quit anime, once I've watch this anime i got interest of watching this anime. This anime is my hero. Thank You for making this anime. Highly recommend this anime and hoping for a second season in the future.
Ahmed Ezzeldine I've seen Rakudai like 3 times and I cried at the ending so many times, but let's start from the very beginning before going to the end.I showed my friend this first to see what he thinks and he didn't like the first episode, because the first episode is supposed to kind of introduce you towards the series and I can see what he means. The first episode so was there a massive fan service, but it's like a dangerous type of fan service, but it was that type of cliché where the female trips over the male, but this time, so did we see the body of the male instead of some "panty shot". She saw the body and saw, also felt a body of a warrior who didn't give up, with a lot of spirit in him and I really loved that little detail.Further in the story we saw a type of cliché that the little sister loves her's brother, even makes up with him and such. But the reason of it was really touching, I really loved it and I was feeling the main character in the bottom of my heart and soul.Ikki Kurogane was one of the manliest character I've seen (well, until I saw JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusade) his manliness was just great- no more than great, like... Greater! Later in sooner episodes, Stella and Ikki was alone in a house for themselves and Stella was really sick, how Stella wanted Ikki and her to have it (aka sex), I was thrilled, I thought it would turn into hentai, but no it didn't Ikki's response was something I didn't quite see coming, it's a response I didn't quite expect and it was super manly of him and that was one of my favourite moments until the last episode! The last episode was the battle everyone wanted and waited for Miss Lighting VS Mr. F and nothing! He proved himself that he can't show any chances and went to the limit- No, more than the limit! He went beyond what he could manage and escaped his father. He then followed the epic win with a proposal and I was amazingly touched by that, like I cried right there in that ending and it was one of the best ending I've seen in a season 1 of anime.Even this gets season 2 or not, I loved how it ended and I'm happy about that ending.
ajrcvr Yes, it is true there is nothing new under the sun - after all, we've kept reading and watching Shakespeare for over 400 years and haven't gotten bored with that yet - but what is interesting about a story is the way they develop it, particularly with plot and drama. The concept of a failed knight who is trying to work his way up is not novel (rags to riches and so forth), but they do it well enough here to be interesting. Stella and Ikki are neat characters and the plot line centers around them and how they develop their lives, their education, and their relationship, problems we all have at one point or another. Add a little magic and the occasional fight for your life, and you have an interesting story. It's humorous at many points, dramatic at others, and altogether an enjoyable feature to watch.
