Amid a rising crime rate, the Inter Solar System Police (ISSP) set up a legalized contract system, in which registered bounty hunters, also referred to as "Cowboys", chase criminals and bring them in alive in return for a reward.

Reviews

John Doe Or three episodes I should say are great, Episode 8: Waltz for Venus, Episode 25: The Real Folk Blues Part 1 and Episode 26: The Real Folk Blues Part 2 are the only good episodes in this series and are above the rest of the series as the other episodes are just ok and just standard. The voice acting, character designs and music by Yohko Kano are good though. I give Cowboy Bebop a 5/10
ibmarco-39277 I was hooked from the first word to the last image. This anime series contained suspense, action, comedy, romance and pure entertainment since the beginning. It was a masterpiece how they made a group of mercenaries including a child hacker, a gambling addict, an ex cop and a left for dead mafia gunman have little interesting adventures whilehaving to each deal with their pasts and how it can affect thr present. All of the crew's stories were intriguing, however what made my tears fall down my cheeks was Spike's story and how despite being a cold blooded killer he also had feelings for Julia, the woman he loved and Vicious who, before wanting to kill Spike was his best friend and brother in arms. Lastly I loved the ending and the significance of Spike's death and what ended up happening to the crew who were cut down from four to two. Really one of the best series I've ever watched.
karltondolo First, let me point out, the last anime I watched was Bleach and I regretted it. Extremely long, very predictable and just boring. It also was a very basic shouen jump show, so all the cleche's are in their. After that show, I watched Cowboy Bebop and have to admit is a much better show than Bleach. I will admit that most of the episodes seem like filler and the main plot arc is around 9 episodes. But the show is quite good. Not the best, but good. I think what make me appreciate the show was the ending. Overall, good show. Not the best, but decent.
ifishmackay Each episode viewed on its own is a masterpiece; with amazing quirky stories, well crafted characters, and excellent music and visuals. However, the ending was anti climactic, over dramatic and didn't fit with the pace of the rest of the show. I really wish we would have learned more about Spikes past, then the epic ending which him facing it would have been justified. I really felt as if Spike himself, and his lover, died for nothing. Leaving his friends behind and ignored. As corny as it would have been, the characters were so perfect, I really was expecting them too all come together in one last hurrah each using their specific skills to help Spike. Then they all would have learned the meaning of family, and realized the home they were searching for was not in their past, but in a feature together. But instead of that we got some odd new half baked idea that the world is a dream and you have to die to live. But even that seemed to not play out. Really seemed like they threw away the great characters, world, and intrigue of Spikes past, for a moody, angsty, dramatic ending.
