Electric Women

For the Freakshow's first nighttime show, Todd asks the performers to come up with new stunts that they normally wouldn't do during the day. Asia discusses her desire to bring more danger to her Electric Lady act. Todd suggests that she work with Miss Electra, a performer famous for her Tesla coil lightning bolt stunt. Before Asia is able to contact Miss Electra herself, Todd meets with her and discusses passing on the stunt to Asia. Miss Electra is reticent. Later, on her own accord, Asia convinces Miss Electra to come see her perform at the Freakshow. Miss Electra is impressed and agrees to teach her how to use the Tesla coil. Meanwhile, Ali is having difficulty recovering from her hip surgery.

Tattooed Vampiress

Creature is looking for a place to live but finds that his appearance is off-putting to potential roommates. He confides in Todd and tells him that sometimes he feels like he is "cursed." Todd offers encouragement, explaining that the adversity Creature is facing will only make him a stronger person. At the Freakshow, Todd is preparing for a special tattoo event. The first performer to arrive is Brian "Legz" Tagalog, an armless tattoo artist who uses his feet to draw tattoos. Next is Matt Gone, a man who has tattoos covering 99% of his body, including his tongue and eyeballs. Matt made a negative comment about Creature's tattoos and piercings online, as well as the two buttheads. Their conflict is quickly resolved after Matt apologizes.

EP2  Boobzilla Comes to Town
Dec. 31,2014
Boobzilla Comes to Town

Everyone at the Freakshow is excited for Boobzilla, a performer who crushes soda cans and lifts objects with her size 44R cup breasts. When she arrives, she explains that her large chest is due to gigantomastia, a condition that causes her breasts to grow uncontrollably. For her debut Freakshow performance, Boobzilla would like to lift Amazing Ali with her breasts. Unfortunately, Ali has been experiencing hip pain and doesn't think she'll be able to do the stunt. With Todd's urging, Ali visits a doctor, who says hip replacement surgery is her only option. Ali fears that a lengthy absence from the Freakshow will make her seem obsolete, but Todd assures her that her position will be there when she returns. Before her surgery, the Freakshow gang visits Ali at the hospital. After a lengthy wait, Ali's doctor arrives and delivers the good news: Ali's surgery went great.

EP1  Freakshow Auditions
Dec. 24,2014
Freakshow Auditions

Todd Ray has recently expanded his Venice Beach Freakshow and holds open auditions to find new talent. As an array of skilled and not-so-skilled performers audition, the Freakshow family realizes that finding a new addition won't be easy. Ali worries about her job security after a man who's even littler than she is performs on a skateboard; Morgue is less than impressed with any of the performers' stage presences; and Todd is intrigued by a snake lady, but Asia is troubled by the sexual nature of the act. Later, Morgue and Asia discuss the auditions, and he informs her that he has been working on a new stunt that is "more dangerous" than anything he's ever done. Meanwhile, Garry "Stretch" Turner (the man with "the stretchiest skin in the world") arrives at the Freakshow. Todd has asked Garry to perform at the Grand Reopening. The big day arrives, and Todd introduces his selection for the newest member of the Freakshow family, Jenevieve the Serpentine Sorceress, to Asia's dismay.

Reviews

ilovemovies2016 I watched the whole show and i enjoyed it seeing something different in a modern day freak show but at times it felt very staged and at times over reacted if you're looking for something new to watch that makes you was wow like Owen Wilson then i would recommend this show but beware some parts do feel stage but do love they way they follow the employees lives as apart of freaks some embrace it some are depressed some just see it as a normal job that pays bills so its not all about looking and judging about peoples disability's it can be inspiring in parts of the show
Lioness DeWinter When Todd and Danielle Ray agreed to allow the Venice Beach Freakshow to be filmed for television, little did they know of the positive and inspiring effect that they would have upon the world. This show is beautiful, its magical, its wondrous and inspiring. It centers around the Ray family and their "extended" family, the performers. The Freakshow itself is magnificent: sword swallowers of many different varieties, fire-eaters, contortionists, fakirs, strongmen, beautiful little people, a bearded lady, Grady III (also known as Lobster Boy), a beautifully tattooed/pierced gentleman who has to be seen to be believed, and many other living wonders of the world. If that isn't enough, the show also boasts the largest collection of two-headed animals on the planet, and a two-headed baby (displayed with respect and awe for the gentleman from whom they acquired it). Respect is a very important theme throughout this show. Todd and Danielle promote love and self-acceptance. They embrace the word "Freak" and try to instill a sense of pride in their performers. Its all about nurturing your own special gifts and feeling good about being unique. I cheer for their triumphs, and cry right along with them when they're hurting. The situation with Creature and his daughter was very emotional for many of us, as was Morgue's social anxiety, Asia's determination to learn sword-swallowing, Ali and Matt's beautiful wedding, Jessa and George's journey to self-acceptance, and much more. I cannot stress how truly BEAUTIFUL this show is. Its a triumph of the human spirit.
