Reviews

gridoon2018 "Haunted" was cancelled before even one whole season was aired; in most cases that is a hasty decision by TV executives, but in this case you can sort of see their reasoning. First of all, it's hard to stay engaged in a TV series when there is really only one lead, and he spends about 80% of the time moping. The show is also visually dreary - it looks as though it was shot through smudged sunglasses (even the daylight scenes are dark). There are too many standalone episodes, and the only two significant arcs - Simon the persistent ghost and Kevin the missing son - are left entirely unresolved. The rules of Frank's dealing with ghosts are also muddled. "Haunted" does have some atmosphere, and there are a couple of good episodes (like the one with Simon possessing the body of Frank's ex-wife's boyfriend - got that?), but on the whole it's a mediocre show and Matthew Fox should thank his lucky stars that "Lost" came along and rescued his career.
swarner1 I know it's been about a year and a half, and I should probably let it go, but I really want to know if anyone has any idea what happened to this show? I was very into it and feel like I was left hanging. I want to know what happened to the characters, especially Frank and his wife. It was so well written, and the actors did such a great job of pulling you in and making you care. If anyone knows why this show was taken off the air, I'd love to know. I even emailed the station right after it was taken off and asked, but never got a response.Oh well. Thanks!A very disappointed fan
jesouhaite78 When I first saw the promos for this show, they really made me want to watch it, but what I tend to find is that most of these shows don't live up to the hype at all. This IS NOT the case for Haunted. The writing is impeccable, the acting incredible and the music (composed by Mark Snow) is eerily haunting and fitting for each scene. It keep you on the edge of your seat and wondering what's going to happen next. I think that this is one of the best new shows of 2002 and if you are (or were)into shows like The X Files, Buffy The Vampire Slayer, CSI, Strange World, VR5, Twilight Zone or Prey, this show is for you. Even if you aren't though, you should give it a try.
rosemcgowanrulez2001 I am a fan of horror, thriller and suspense. SO when I seen the previews of Haunted I was definitely gonna tune in. So far 3 episodes and the show seems to get better each time. Not a let down so far. Some creepy scenes that are better than say Angel and Charmed, although those 2 shows rock. Seeing Matthew Fox playing a total opposite role from his POF role and succeeding is great to see. The dark drama in this goes along with Angel and yet doesn't follow in its footsteps. With the ghosts that apear to the visions he sees to help solve crimes makes this show intriguing and far from boring. UPN has a sleeper hit on their hands, but let's hope it doesn't fall to the way side of the other cancellations each season because of poor timeslots. I think networks have to realize that people will tape one show while watching another, seems they forgot about the invention of the VCR and timer recording. Also satellite is another thing. Miss it in the east time, watch it in the west time.
