victorprivat-21537 If you remove Lou Flaming from the series it becomes perfect... Most annoying and pointless character ever... Even worse than Tricia Walker on Jessica Jones...
glorioreo I have just finished watching Season 10 on Netflix and am going to start watching again from the beginning for the third time. That is how much I enjoy this show. Jack and Tim are great characters and the actors who portray them, Shaun Johnston and Chris Potter respectively, bring the characters to life with masterful performances. Chris Potter is the best actor in the series. His portrayal of Tim is nuanced and complex and takes what could have been a two dimensional character and gives us a complicated, flawed, funny, and lovable man. The Ty and Amy thread is the center of the series but other characters are woven in and out adding depth to the show. I would give this a 10 except that the character of Lou is just too flawed for me to like. Whereas Tim's flaws are compelling and complex, Lou's flaws are irritating and downright silly at times. That said, this is a beautiful show for those who like character driven stories, horses, and gorgeous scenery from western Canada. If you are looking for a wholesome, almost old fashioned type of show, then give this a try.
tivamartin I like the show but I'm only in season 4 and I have to wonder if the writers know how annoying Lou, Tim, and Amy are. I can't stand Lou. She is a whiny selfish brat who only thinks of herself. There's not one single episode where I don't want to smack her. Tim is quite the selfish swindling jerk himself. Like father, like daughter. And Amy is slightly better, but her holier than thou attitude is hard to swallow sometimes. Just had to get that off my chest.
scott_francis I've watched all 10 seasons and truly love this show. I have found the complexity of story line, characters, and life experiences to be very inspiring and heartfelt. I believe the show has balanced the grittiness of life with the beauty of life. At times the story line and character dynamics has quite a tension and the fruits of resolve. I have watched the first 2 episodes of Season 11 and I have to say I have been a bit disappointed. I believe it is a director issue. I have found certain story line threads feel disconnected. Ty and Amy's dialogues seems flat and the show seems like it is a bit to polished and has lost some of the grit it started out with. Amy's passion for horse healing now seems more like horse coaching. Hope they are able to bring a bit more grit back into the show and are not get attached to it being so neat and clean.
