Reviews

OllieSuave-007 Chef Gordon Ramsay puts aspiring chefs, divided into guys and girls teams, through a cooking competition amid rigorous and grueling challenges at his Hollywood restaurant in order for the chefs to ultimately become the final two standing to compete for the prize of running his/her own restaurant, with monetary winnings included. This is quite the intense show with Ramsay spewing expletives and verbal abuse at the contestants, getting them to cook right and to run the kitchen properly. This puts the chefs under extreme pressure, creating plenty of nail-biting moments for the audience, as they try to cook to meet Ramsay's expectations. It can be a turn-off seeing the chefs argue and whine and pit against/sabotage each other. Some of the contestants' cockiness were also a turn off. Toward the end of each episode, the scene where Ramsay gets the teams to pick two people from each of their groups to be eliminated was rather redundant. Ultimately, it is really Ramsay who decides which contestant to leave the show, so, the votes don't really count. The sous chefs were also redundant, I think. They really served no purpose in the show except to look important because they work so closely with Chef Ramsay. The only sous chef I thought played an important role was Andi Van Willigan because she actually took the time to give contestants pointers and advice on the show and in how to deal with Ramsay.Overall, it's a pretty good series. Intense and entertaining.Grade B
LeParas-1 Twenty of America's most incompetent, chain smoking, and mentally disturbed"professional" cooks compete to win Hell's Kitchen. The prize is the head chef position at one of Gordon Ramsay's restaurants (a job almost never awarded). Wow, what a concept! Almost as interesting as DIY scrotum-piercing or watching paint dry! 20 incompetent dimwits calling themselves "Chef" but the sad reality is that they don't know even the most basic things. Where did these "Chef" learn to cook? Local County Jails around the USA? There are way more interesting thing to waste your time and have a pleasant TV experience, sadly this waste of time isn't.
indigaus2000 I'm a huge fan of Gordon Ramsay and all of his shows, but for one which is a competition to become head chef at one of his restaurants, the real focus of the show is on the worst contestants every week. This first occurred to me about two thirds of the way through the first season of the show that I watched, when the remaining people all seemed to have been somewhat silent through the first bits of the season. One contestant I barely even recognized! The real shining stars apparently don't create enough drama for fox, which is why I imagine they got snubbed by the cameras until so far along. That being said, I can't keep myself from watching.
eyesbehindthemask-14-175130 I have NEVER missed an episode of Hell's Kitchen and will continue to be an avid watcher. Chef Ramsey has obviously named this show after himself because he is HELL in the kitchen and I love it!! I am a firm believer in 'tough love' if necessary to get the job done and tough love has proved to be necessary with some of these 'chef-etts'. This season is full of cry babies ie, Kasha... get over yourselves and "man up"! I refer to these "Chef's" as chef-etts because they have yet to even come near the point of being able to run one of Gordon's place's with his name and reputation on the line.Stop crying and pointing the finger, man/woman up and accept responsibility for your mistakes and correct them!!In regards to Kasha... all that screaming that you're doing is just a bunch of noise so shut the hell up, woman up and realize that right now you are NOT a leader!
