Reviews

SnoopyStyle Hope (Faith Ford) is an uptight happily married mom of three in Glen Falls, Ohio. Her tidy world is up-ended by the arrival of her celebrity sister, the giant mess Faith (Kelly Ripa). Faith was a Hollywood diva as a daytime soap opera star until her soap's character was unceremoniously killed off.Kelly Ripa was annoying, and her character unlikeable. Faith Ford wasn't much better. The constant fighting really made it hard to root for this angry relationship. It also had on set drama as they fired the oldest daughter played by Nicole Paggi. She was great as the only fun character. For seasons 2 & 3, they replaced her with Megan Fox. Sadly, she may have the looks, but at that stage she couldn't act her way out of a paper sack.
Raflet60 I discovered this show in the last three months when I was channel surfing during the morning. I watched for a few minutes and actually laughed at some of the jokes. As I kept coming across this show I noticed I was beginning to like what I saw. I eventually started to watch the show and although there are some rough spots and weak writing at times, I realized that Kelly Ripa has very good comedic timing and great expressions. She and Faith Ford make a really funny team. I will admit that I normally wouldn't be into a show like this because I always considered shows like "The Dick Van Dyke Show" or "M*A*S*H" to be more of my liking with great writing and great acting. Again, with this show I'm attracted to the chemistry of the two leads and I sympathize with the husband who hates his sister-in-law. It's definitely not a great show and Kelly Ripa's character can be downright mean and not a very nice person but she pulls it off beautifully and there are some really funny lines. I really wish it had lasted more than three seasons. I'll give it a 7 out of 10 because of Kelly Ripa's acting, she should definitely do another sitcom.
paulsayer12 Wonderful writing. Superb direction. Exquisite acting. This show has everything you could need in comedy. Shame on ABC for cancelling the show and shame on British channels for not buying it. But, maybe it was better to cancel it. Dharma and Greg started off fine and was good for three seasons but then it took a nose dive and got boring. Maybe it's better that Hope and Faith finished on a high, before it got tired and predictable. At least it has created both people who love the show and people who hate it. And look at the favourite shows of the people who hate it. Most of them don't even come close to being funny. Great acting, including guest stars like Jenny McCarthy. This will be around when most sitcoms have long been forgotten.
Catherine_Grace_Zeh "HOPE & FAITH," in my opinion, is an absolute ABC classic! I haven't seen every episode, but I still enjoy it. There are many episodes that I enjoyed. One of them was where Hope (Kelly Ripa) got busted with Charlie (Ted McGinley). If you want to know why, you'll have to have seen it for yourself. Before I wrap this up, I'd like to say that everyone always gave a good performance, the production design was spectacular, the costumes were well-designed, and the writing was always very strong. In conclusion, even though new episodes can currently be seen, I strongly recommend you catch it just in case it goes off the air for good.
