review man Apparently this show was written by children. It's a truly pathetic attempt to make archeology more interesting by adding a legend quest theme. but it actually does more harm than good. It's as dumb and retarded as ancient aliens which also manages to take the hard work of scholars and regress it to mysticism and film flam.I actually enjoyed it because I like to hate things and this show provided me with a non stop tirade of hatred. It manages treat the audience like morons. It uses editing techniques to add bad voice overs to scenes where there clearly wasn't any dialogue. The editing in general is just awful. It's a mish-mash of extreme close ups and non-existent suspense. The episode I watched featured 3 close ups of spiders. The Indiana Jones knock off host just pisses you off. He is arrogant and manages to lose his Scottish accent in favour of an American accent on numerous occasions seemingly in dramatic situations. For a show that presents some adventure and history check out digging for the truth instead.
info-10310 (SPOILER ALERT - Contains brief reference to recent episode) I had such high hopes for this show and have watched every episode since the premiere, but...This production is the biggest load of bunk imaginable proving once and for all that anyone with a video camera, a pretty assistant and an accent can sell a show. I LOVE the concept and tracking down history is a passion, but this is not so much tracking down history as justifying a very large expense report. The breathless excitement Ashley invokes as he spins tales of unseen connections would be exciting to the viewer were it not for the utter absurdity. Like the two pieces of rock in Israel that somehow lead him to conclude that not only do they represent King Solomon's ring, but point the way to its location as well, resulting in a helicopter ride over the Vatican in Italy. You can actually get glimpses of his trusty assistant smirking or holding back laughter as he weaves his web of intrigue. They sure put this on the right channel because it is absolutely fiction, just a little short on the science.
jw_11 I watched a few episodes of this show, and as many have said above, it is obvious that Syfy is trying to do some kind of an Indiana Jones/National treasure/da Vin code type show. It fails miserably. There is no excitement of him actually finding anything. Just places where relics may have been....Spoiler alert: (lol since there is nothing to spoil and he doesn't actually find anything)All of his local contacts who seem to reluctantly help him try to find what he is looking for also seem to be laughing at him. See Templar guy in Italy during the Ark of the Covenant search. After watching that debacle, I was glad to see him get sliced open by some giant thorn plant in the Mexican desert.I kept the show on just to watch Kinga walk around the desert in skin tight pants. They should just get a few more models and have them walk around too. Replace Ashley the "archeologist" with another hot girl... South Park or SNL needs to make fun of this guy, however if they tried, the joke would be lost, since a few months from now, no one will ever even know the show existed.
theta-astute I honestly thought this show had promise at first, but as I watched episode after episode, I realized it wasn't going anywhere. The main dude (I honestly didn't even bother to remember his name because I found him THAT non-interesting) puts clues randomly together. Give him a stick and he'll say to go left, right, into the temple, under the water, travel to 3 different countries, and there you go. He has his "idea" of where the legendary artifact may be. But he cannot make sure because of some stupid reason. It's either protected, not enough information, too dangerous, or something else.I have also done research on some of what he claimed was "history". Most of it is meaningless babble.
