alexanderdavies-99382 "Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman" was doing well during the first two seasons. The episodes were entertaining, the characters of Lois and Clark/Superman were well defined and Lex Luthor was involved. The story lines were quite complex for a show aimed at teenagers. Dean Cain wasn't bad as the superhero and Teri Hatcher was a great Lois Lane. Sadly, the show had outstayed its welcome by the time it finished after four seasons. It wasn't a good move in Lois knowing who Clark really was as the sense of drama had been greatly diluted. The writing had gotten rather lazy as well. I still have fond memories of this series though, seeing as I remember seeing it on a Saturday evening on BBC 2 at about 6:15 p.m.
Ilia Gofman Around 20 years ago and more recently (repeats), I've seen on TV a few episodes of Louis and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman (1993). It seemed OK then. Recently I've decided to buy the full TV series from Amazon. As I've then started watching them without the adds interruptions, I thought from then on that it was much better than I remembered it and it's actually amazing. Every part of the filming of this series was done to an excellent standard. Absolutely all of the actors and in particular Dean Cain and Teri Hatcher, did a great job and made the series feel immersive, like it's actually happening. I just wana see more :) Looking at some other more modern series for comparison, in around 2016, like Arrow, Agents of shield, flash, legends of tomorrow etc. Louis & Clark would have blown them out of the water, if they would have only released their series now. P.S Dean Cain, Chyler Leigh and Mehcad Brooks actors are the main reason I bother watching the modern Supergirl 2015 series :)
Danny Blankenship This TV series which ran back in the mid 90's sure was one good adaptation of "Superman" as the series kept true to form with the hero doing crime fighting and keeping the planet save. And on the side the series focused on the romance between Clark and Lois that developed from their time together at the daily planet. Dean Cain was in top form as Clark Kent and Superman as his slick hair and hunk looks was a great modern day image of Superman and a throwback to the good old days of "Superman" in the comics. And during the series the planet and world would always be saved, aside from that enter the girlfriend Lois Lane(played by the very hot and sexy Teri Hatcher)as in this series would show the romance she had with the "Man of Steel" and many scenes were so hot with Teri Hatcher. And I remember many episodes of Teri being a damsel in distress as her Lois character so many times was tied up and gagged or either had her mouth shut with duct tape! Never fear Superman was always to the rescue! Overall great Superman series and with a good spin subplot of romance and Teri Hatcher made it a sexy watch!
Mark Tyler I never realized while this show was running what a homage it was to the original TV series with George Reeves, but it truly is in so many ways. There are dozens of little touches that echo the original show. For example, there is a character called Inspector Henderson, and at the end of the show the Superman cape is shown with a red "S" just as it was on George Reeve's costume, whereas Superman's actual cape has a yellow "S".Notice that Dean Cain's hairstyle as Superman is swept back just as George Reeve's was, even though the character never wore it that way in the comics. The very title is the NEW adventures of Superman, whereas the original was properly called, "The Adventures of Superman", and not merely Superman. At least one episode was a remake from the original series by the original writer, and both the original Lois Lane, and Jimmy Olsen appeared at least once each in the series. It has been pointed out that later in its run it began to unravel, and this is non unusual for any series, but this affectionate homage to both the characters and the earlier series is a fun romp that still holds up fairly well 15 years later.I might add that Smallville has continued the tradition of alluding to the original series countless times, and has even had Dean Caine appear, among many other actors with a Superman history. All in all, this series is a solid entry in the Superman story. I recommend you watch this, and not that dreadful Euro-Superman they tried to foist on us in Superman Returns.
